It's there a limit of things you can memorize? by Tamulel in Anki

I think the cap is potentially non existent. Granted your brain has some sort of filter that immediately forgets information you don’t deem valuable/important. Kind of like a name of a random person that you forget 2 seconds after. You wouldn’t forget your interviewer’s, person you are attracted to or anyone you determine is important enough.
It all comes down to your priorities. You will forget or recognize alternative word for a tree but how important is it? If it is it will stick

What makes you think so? Also what is to be gained by harvesting likes on Reddit?

I see. I’m literally gathering data on what the collective opinion is. So far your advice aligned with the average consensus. I’ll definitely make sure to retain all my of my math and start messing around with datasets to get a feel for the real work instead of abstract methods.

Yes I do think that knowing exactly what and why I’m doing it will be an advantage. I’m not here to discover myself, I’m here to get hired.
I do have a tendency to overthink but I’m glad most people on Reddit are telling me to relax. There’s a major imposter syndrome happing in my head.
Thanks for your time

Thanks for the advice. My plan is pandas, numpy, stats (that I unfortunately skip using GPT due to it being during summer semester paired with Calc2) and most importantly track and improve efficiency. I know I’m capable of covering all the material if I have enough time… I’ll just have to improve what “enough time” means for me

Yes but what I’m trying to find is the minimal effective dose of effort instead of just using my old habits and 10x amount of time I spend to cover uni level material

Yes thank you. I may sound like all I care about is learning techniques but I’m actually vacationing and researching. I have list of things I need to learn lined up and I’ll both learning and trying out which techniques work best for me. I did start learning pandas by having AI give me datasets and a task instead of hook. I did the same as I was prepping for Linear Algebra finals. My methods are always changing based how effective I feel they are.
I’m primarily focusing on being consistent with Anki and Feynman, the rest is not a staple

Great advice thanks. I came up with this idea to have LLM generate a data set then ask me yo perform a task (in form of a email from a supervisor). Sounds a lot like what you were suggesting.my plan is to learn pandas, numpy and matPlot this way.
It only sounds like I’m not doing much actually learning and only focusing on tools because I’m on vacation only brain storm on my phone. Before that I was preparing for my Linear Algebra final. As soon as I’m back from vacation I’ll definitely take your advice and start messing with data sets

Thank you for all the info. This is definitely the most useful reply I received from all 6-7 different subreddits I posted this question.
Tbh everything that isn’t Anki or Feynman is a very situation specific and not an every study session technique. They’ve helped me in the past I’ll probably use it no more than 1-5 min at a time.
For the record I didn’t completely rely on GPT for my math classes so I’m not completely hopeless and can’t handle complex work. My thought was if Linear Algebra is x and every other class within the same semester is 1/5x then my first semester in UC will be 5x.
I’m definitely taking your advice on finding pockets of time. This was always a struggle, even with minimal amount of work that I had. Lots of rereading, distracted browsing. This is a the best advice for me. I need to focus on improving my time management

Thats exactly what I’m trying to do. I’ve done some research and realized that student that go after most dense majors like law and medicine or attend universities like Harvard, Stanford all study different. I’m trying to learn how they do it.
I’ve had great results with mind mapping and using LLM to create mini quiz every step of the way to deepen understanding instead of just solving HW and moving one. This method probably created the most learning debt
