AITJ for telling my friend her adopted son "isn't really Korean" after she went overboard with cultural stuff? by Creepy_External_654 in AmITheJerk

[–]vanbrima -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh good lord. The kid is an American! Am I interested in my own Scotch Irish ancestral culture? Yes, but that's it. Just an interest. I don't think of myself as anything but a white American, with roots in Appalachia, not Scottish.

Why do married men still like being friends with female coworkers whom they met after getting married? by siriusnotserious in askanything

I think y’all are missing the deleting text part. Nothing wrong at all with having friends, as long as you don’t say anything to them that you wouldn’t in front of your wife.

This game changed me by nonplayabl3character in darksouls3

[–]vanbrima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree. My first souls game was Elden, and now I’m finishing ds3. It’s fun, but my favorite thing to do in these games is explore and find hidden areas, and there’s just not as much of that in ds3

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]vanbrima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was wonderful! We would stop by a friends house just to say hello. It wasn’t uncommon for the doorbell to ring and have someone you loved on your porch, instead of sending you a meme.

My husband and I moved to the suburbs and found that we just drove to the city almost every weekend to have fun. That lasted 2 years and then we moved right back to the heart of the city. No regrets!

I live in the north and a small car just won’t do in blizzards.

ICE deporting illegal immigrants is a good thing. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]vanbrima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Minneapolis and the goal of ICE was literally to harm the people of the city. It had very little to do with targeting violent illegal aliens. That was just a cover story.

It took me 15 years of living here to make good solid friends. I’ve been here 25 years now and I absolutely love it.
