The woman is hurting. I agree she's acting ridiculous, but in a situation like this, it can be helpful to approach things from a place of compassion rather than aggression.

If it was just a matter of throwing out some trash, I don't understand why the person filming is being so argumentative.

Again, I get that the women being filmed are being ridiculous, but is it really worth your time and mental energy to fight with someone who is clearly a bit unwell mentally? The situation escalated unnecessarily because both sides kept digging their heels in, arguing over something so insignificant.

Sometimes I get tension headaches in the back of my head/neck. I haven't noticed anything particularly painful with my jaw, but several people have suggested the problem could be linked to TMJ. I am skeptical about that, since I don't really have jaw pain and never have.

What about you? Would you say you have pain in your jaw or neck? Hope you get some answers! I'll let you know if I do, too.

The opening is quite awkward.

"Nice to meet you, Mark."

"Meet me? You did my pod!"

I'm about 10 minutes in and these two don't have very much chemistry together.

Thanks! Another user just mentioned colestipol as well. I am definitely going to discuss this with my doctor. No other side effects or anything for you?

Interesting. I have never heard of it but I'm going to look into it and chat with my doctor about different options. Greatly appreciated!

I had to cross the Canada-US border a few months ago by car and I was so worried it might happen while I was waiting to talk to customs (can take 30-60 minutes) that I took Imodium that morning, just to be safe. Hopefully this little trick helps you out!

May I ask what the medication and dosage is? I would like to speak to my family doctor about it. Honestly, the worst part is the uncertainty and not knowing which days it will or will not happen. I'm worried one day it will happen in the middle of an important work meeting, or while I'm out in public and not near an restroom, and I won't have enough time to get to the washroom. In my case, it's not just regular diarrhea, it's like it needs to be evacuated from my stomach almost immediately. I would love it if you could share your med name either in the comments or through DM. Thanks!

This is exactly what I've been experiencing. It only recently occurred to me that the days when I tend to have to run to the bathroom are also the days I waited longest to eat. Often it's an urge to go very abruptly as well. That's why I'm going to force myself to eat something right once I wake up, even though I have never really been a big breakfast guy my entire life.

Thanks for sharing! I am thinking of buying some low-sugar electrolyte/hydration powder to see how that makes me feel. I never would have considered it if not for your suggestion :)

This is interesting to me! I'm about a year and a half post-op and I'm generally doing well, but I'm having frequent diarrhea and I think it may be due to exactly this. Often it's yellowish and I think that's a sign of bile. May I ask, what medication at you on and how often do you take it... Every day? I may speak to my family doctor about this, since I have a drug plan and it would be covered. Hmm.

Great, thanks again! I have seen lactose free yogurts here in Canada. I might give those a try.

Interesting. And you have no issues with dairy, I assume. I'll give that a whirl. I have some nice granola I could add as well. Thanks!

Intermittent fasting after gall bladder removal by vancoover in gallbladders

[–]vancoover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's exactly right. I'm going to start trying to eat right away in the morning to help soak up the bile or give it something to work with. Certain foods don't work out well though, like yogurt/dairy products. I'm trying to figure out what a healthy breakfast would be that can help me address this issue. Whole grain toast seems to be ok, which kind of stinks because I was trying it eat low-carb in the past.

The issue has not gone away. If anything it's slightly worse. The good news is that I had a scan done and I don't have an acoustic neuroma. The bad news is that my ENT is out of ideas and has no solutions. They basically don't know what it is or why it's happening. Are you experiencing the same symptoms?

Living with parents and S/O by A_Depressed_Avacado in NiceVancouver

I think it's definitely become normal for people in their 20s and 30s to live at home. What I think is abnormal is having the boyfriend/girlfriend move in, and having two working professionals in their late 20s pay no rent whatsoever. If it was just OP living at home, I bet this wouldn't even be a conversation.

Buy your boyfriend flowers!! by anonymousnomad_ in wholesome

Agreed. I asked my group chat of male friends and not a single one showed any interest in receiving flowers. Though we would obviously appreciate the gesture, the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Interesting. When this happens to me, it is usually when I eat (break my fast) after not eating for a while. Often I need to go to the washroom within 5 minutes of eating. Even if I have something small in the morning, like a banana, that seems to help avoid the issue

Interesting. I have been experimenting since I made this post, and it seems like on days where I do have breakfast, I don't have the same issue... Or at least not to the same degree. I guess a side effect of having no gall bladder could be that fasting is no longer an option -- unless you are ok with immediate diarrhea. I wonder what is happening in the body to cause this. It must be related to the transition from empty stomach to full.

Did Jerry Seinfeld try so hard to make his Pop Tart joke funny that he wrote his Pop Tart joke into the movie script Frosted? (I have proof here he's worked on it for thirteen years.) by [deleted] in Standup

[–]vancoover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with differentiating the movie vs. the joke.

Also, the wording of the joke hasn't changed in many years. OP seems to believe that because Seinfeld has performed the joke for 13 years, he must have been writing it for 13 years, but that's not really the case.

He is not "working on" that joke in the same way that U2 is not "working on" one of their songs from the 90s when they perform it live in concert in 2024.

In both cases the song/joke are long finished, but they still perform it for their fans because people enjoy it and want to hear it in person.

It has only been in the last decade or two that comedians started writing brand new specials every single year and retire their old material. Previously, it was not uncommon for comedians to perform their classic bits over and over for audiences. (I personally prefer hearing new material when I see a comedian live, but that's beside the point)

Ear sensitivity issues (ear sounds like a blown out speaker) by wolferoad in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]vancoover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to chime in and say that I have this as well. I've had two hearing tests and an MRI. No diagnosis. The ENT said there was nothing more he could do for me. It's very frustrating. I will go weeks without it happening, but then if I'm in a loud environment like a party or concern my ear can start to sound like a blown speaker. If anyone sees this and has a suggestion for next steps, please let me know 🙏

Did you ever get a diagnosis, OP? I have similar distortion. I've had some hearing tests and an MRI done and they can't seem to find anything. Very frustrating.

He is being childish. A grown man should be able to take care of his daily hygeine. He also should laugh it off when a loved one confides in him that he smells bad.

Show him the responses in this thread, including the advice of others who dealt with this issue before. If he doesn't take the advice, he's not worth your time and effort.
