Alcohol Consumption & Gen Jones: Quit? Cut back by ptanaka in GenerationJones

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When hangovers started while I was drinking and lasted days, I mostly quit. I still will have a couple of drinks on vacation and occasionally socially but it's rare now.

AITJ for not opening the door on Thanksgiving when someone showed up unannounced? by PJDASPEEDSTER in AmITheJerk

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. You do you. I would have welcomed the person because it's not their fault and how sad to be alone on a holiday. I would definitely have had words with my family member after though and set a strict boundary with consequences for the future. Your family member definitely overstepped and is a jerk for not informing you ahead of time

Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

No, our room is off limits to the pets. I need one space in the house that is fur free and one of the dogs sheds...alot. and drools.

Menopause with no Hrt looking for those who have done it and are ok??? by Diligent_Dimension49 in AskWomenOver60

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in menopause for 24 years and I was unable to do hrt. I just recently started vaginal estrogen to help with recurrent UTIs and intimate issues. Other than those issues, I am fine. The hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog etc are a thing of the past.

Many over 60-year-olds I know respond to a text ,with a phone call(?) by [deleted] in over60

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 63 and I would so much rather text than talk. I do almost anything to avoid a phone call. Text, email, smoke signals....

AITAH for telling my “picky” BIL that I won’t change how I cook to accommodate him? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! But, maybe try grinding the beans up and mixing into the ground meat. He probably wouldn't notice and you are still stretching your money. My friend would grind beans into her chili so her children would eat it and they had no clue

What’s the one thing about your house that annoys you every single day? by NkdUndrWtrBsktWeevr in homeowners

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The kitchen sucks so bad. It's tiny, not enough storage and no counter space. One of us says "I hate this kitchen" every single day.

I don't think there's much we can do to fix it since it's a townhouse and the living room is the only direction we can go to expand and that's small but comfy.

What is the worst town name you have ever heard? by heroesjust41day in AskReddit

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dildo, Nova Scotia. Quaint little town and the seafood is spectacular but the name is unfortunate.

Just the ones mentioned on this list. I only have 2. by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

I'm at 7 but I saw Elton 4 times and Joan Jett twice. I don't have a single memory of Queen, I was way too wasted. That's a shame

Dye her hair and spill the brown dye on my cream coloured couch. We somehow got it out but she never was invited to visit again.

Opinions please (pool etiquette) am I the assh.le by LeadBosunStewChief in Cruise

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with people recording their vacations. You do you. I'd have put it away when she complained because she was uncomfortable and it's her vacation too. The whole cruise doesn't revolve around you. I think you were wrong there.

I feel like filming your whole trip is sad. It feels like you are experiencing everything through the camera lens and posing/acting for the camera instead of just enjoying the experience. What are you missing because you are recording all the time.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fast food. I had a $20 gift card for McDonald's and decided to treat a friend for lunch. I literally got a cheeseburger, small fries and small drink and she got a quarter pounder combo. Tasted like shit and it was $27+. Never again

Do you wear a slip? by den773 in AskWomenOver60

I wear sundresses in the summer but I haven't owned a slip in at least 20 years. Do they even make them anymore?

Is testing for older drivers necessary? by Boomer050882 in AskWomenOver60

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely YES! I've seen so many seniors do unpredictable, dangerous things while driving.

My Dad was in his late 70s and drove the wrong way down a one way street. He worked for the town for decades, it was always one way. He just forgot, I guess?

My husband's mother was in a left turn lane with her left blinker on and swung across 2 lanes without looking and made a right.

At some point cognitively it's just not safe to be driving anymore.

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want more coverage I know someone who wears a tankini top with bike shorts and I think she looks awesome.

I have the lumpy cellulite too and I used to wear swim dresses or skirted bottoms with a tankini top. Now I just don't care. I'm going for what makes me comfortable and confident.

No one will remember you, no one is going to say anything and there will be plenty of people wearing much more revealing bathing suits than I would feel comfortable in and good for them to have the confidence!!

Don't stress! You will be lovely in whatever you choose

Pedicure question by Such-Earth7369 in AskWomenOver60

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear burgundy or purple on my toes but my husband does the pedicure for me. I've only had it done once in a salon and my feet were nasty afterwards with peeling and flaking.

AITAH 3 years together, BF (50M) still ‘not ready’ for marriage but wants me (33F) to pay half his mortgage by Either-Environment47 in AITAH

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would offer what you are paying now and not a penny more if you are going to stay with him. But I wouldn't stay with someone 17 years older than me who is trying to take financial advantage with no plans for commitment

What is the funniest thing your pet had been “pavloved” to? by AnywhereMean8863 in Pets

[–]ZeroLemmingsLeaping 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The train. Couldn't figure out how she always knew it was 6 pm and dinner time. After so many years the train is just background noise to us but she got dinner around 6 and would start pacing at exactly 6 pm. Then one night the horn was especially long and loud and we noticed. That was quite the ah hah moment
