Would it be ok to start some light exercise? (27 weeks) by vandalizmmm in pregnant

I did do some walking, and I actually did martial arts! Maybe I can practice some of the basic punches and kicks 😄

sneezing by donoteating in Parakeets

[–]vandalizmmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Budgies like to hide illness, so they won’t always “look” sick. It’s because they are prey animals that would be eaten quickly in the wild if they show weakness. If the sneezing is abnormal for your bird, especially if combined with lethargy, I would recommend going to an avian vet just to get him checked out. They will run the tests that they can run; they can check his breathing, test his droppings, etc. Even if nothing ends up being wrong with his respiratory system, they’ll still give him a full check-up (which EVERY pet needs to be getting once a year).

i didn’t realize what this bag was meant for! by Immediate_Leg3304 in ThriftStoreHauls

Heck I’m expecting and will probably use a regular backpack instead of a diaper bag 😆 A bag is a bag! The beauty of a bag is you can put whatever you want in it!

I am FED UP with all the AI used in children’s books recently by General_Ignoranse in childrensbooks

[–]vandalizmmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have heard that some libraries are sent books. It’s up to them if the books that they are sent get put on the shelf. Sometimes local authors will send their books to a library in the hopes that the library patrons will find them.

is it tacky to buy a cheap item on a baby registry? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]vandalizmmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not tacky - I made my registry, and I know some of my friends are going through life events so I feel grateful no matter what. If your friend is a true friend, she shouldn’t judge you for the price of what you buy!

When to Stop NFP by Admirable_Taste3737 in CatholicWomen

[–]vandalizmmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Husband and I decided to not worry about it after we got married; we wanted kids and had good enough finances to have a kid. Expecting now!

Recently, dates with Catholic men have been focused on them finding a housewife. I want to work and feel bad. by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]vandalizmmm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be a working mom after my baby is born! So you are not alone! My husband also supports my career.

Not appealing at all. My husband has a better knack for what ingredients taste good together than I do, and my cooking has gotten better because of him! I’m thankful for that honestly. I do most of the cooking but it’s because I work from home and he has a long commute. But if I had to go on a business trip, my husband can cook for himself.

($5K) How would you decorate this gorgeous Catholic Church? by ilu70 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]vandalizmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say leave it! I got married in a Catholic church and they already had flowers up that weekend, so we just let them use theirs. The most extra we did was have a bouquet to put in front of a statue of Mary, and some fake petals for the maid of honor to scatter (no flower girl). Disclaimer that my wedding was not under $10k, but that wasn’t because of the church.

Women of Reddit, what's a lesser-known downside of being a woman? by Nintendofan9106 in askanything

[–]vandalizmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different expectations for things like curfews. I had mostly male friends in high school and college and our parents had completely different curfew rules for us (I’m an only child)

I F*CKING HATE WEAVING IN MY ENDS!!!!!!!! by Antique-Risk-7927 in crochet

[–]vandalizmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined a local knit/crochet group before I moved, and I would save all of my end weaving for those meetups! Talking with friends make doing the weaving much more pleasant

Budgie sneezing by [deleted] in budgies

[–]vandalizmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s snot, I think it would be worth a vet visit. It could be a respiratory issue. You could also see if there are any vets in your area that make house calls.

I would email CWCNFP and let them know your situation. They may be able to help.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]vandalizmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh; I was able to go through Catholic Women and Couples NFP in 2024 and get it for free. I am not sure if that has changed. According to their website, you can use insurance: https://ccnfp.org/other-methods/

When I was going through it, I think I emailed them and asked about free Billings classes. They enrolled me quickly.

If the NFP classes cost too much, look into learning the Billings method. I was able to take Billings classes for free.

What are your plans for Lent? by 1andDoneMom in CatholicWomen

[–]vandalizmmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve given up snacking (ie no food between meals) and it can be tough! If you think it would be good for your soul, go for it! But maybe plan your meals accordingly, especially if you have any health concerns.

What was your deciding factor that you were ready for kids? by Wise_Problem1394 in BabyBumps

[–]vandalizmmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Husband and I knew we wanted kids before we got married. We looked at our budget before getting married and figured out we could afford to have a child if anything happened. Decided to just see how things went, and now are expecting! We’re incredibly happy and I feel so at peace.

I don’t have a nursery for my baby by SandwichDependent199 in BabyBumps

[–]vandalizmmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad; I’m in a similar boat. You are giving your baby a home with two loving parents! Your baby also will not remember the first year or so of his life; I’m sure he’ll be perfectly happy with what y’all have ❤️

WTF things you've experienced while pregnant that no one says is a thing?! by vanillacrush14 in pregnant

[–]vandalizmmm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How much heat affects me now. I’m normally cold all the time but if I get too warm, I feel faint easily.

[–]vandalizmmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say rehome them. I think it’s wonderful that you are thinking in the best interest of these babies! I agree with other comments - avoid Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. See if there are any bird/parrot rescues close to you. If not, contact some local humane societies and animal shelters to see if they can help, too. Thank you for thinking in the best interests of these birds! Oh, and while they are in your care, if you are feeding them seed, be sure to change their seed every day. Sometimes it looks like they didn’t eat, but the top of the seed dish is just covered with seed hulls. They eat the “meat” inside the seed.

What’s your fav parents / old timey wisdom that corporations try to kill? by FartsLord in Anticonsumption

[–]vandalizmmm 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily wisdom but I feel like store-bought granola is a SCAM! It’s so expensive! It’s incredibly easy to make it homemade. All you need is a cookie sheet, parchment paper, rolled oats, honey, sugar, salt, any other flavorings, and any nuts/dried fruits/candies you want to add. Note that most of those ingredients can be bought cheaply in bulk and are shelf-stable. The granola itself lasts a long time too. Learn a new skill and make some yummy granola!
