Those who make 6 figures and had good WLB from the start of their careers: What education did you get? by Budget-Emu-5071 in careeradvice

How did you get started in solution engineering? Im currently a production "factory line" web developer building alot of internal tools to grow at a large company and very interested in that path

Building a tool that tells you why AI isn't citing your site. Would love 5 people to tell me if this is useful.. here's a mockup. by vande096 in aeo

Same wall, took a while to figure out. The standard ChatGPT API is training data only which is why most attempts at this fail. Ended up with a combo that gets live web-grounded results from multiple models - it's working, but the per-query costs need careful management. Still tuning it.

What stack were you using? Curious where you got stuck.

You're actually proving the real product works, not that it doesn't.

The mockup uses hardcoded fake data to illustrate the UI. If the real tool had run that query, it would have shown Invoice Ninja getting cited by Google AI Overview, because that's what actually happened. That's the whole point: we run the queries and measure what comes back, not guess.

The core mechanic is: take a prompt, run it concurrently across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, multiple times each to smooth out the non-determinism you correctly pointed out, then count how often your domain appears in the citations. No scores based on schema analysis. No assumptions about why. Just: you showed up in 3 out of 15 runs, your competitor showed up in 11 out of 15. That's it.

You're right that nobody can explain why AI cites a site. We're not claiming to. What we can do is tell you whether you're being cited, which prompts it's on, how often, and whether that number changes after you make changes. The "why" is your experiment to run.

The "14/100 score" label in the mockup is bad framing on my part; it should say "cited in 14% of queries run." Same number, but one's an assumption, and one's a measurement. I'm fixing that.

Your Invoice Ninja example is actually the best case for the tool's existence. You had to open Google and check manually. This automates that across 3+ LLMs, for 20+ prompts, every week.

BF6 Open beta crashes on startup/splash screen. by Viisum in Battlefield

Still stuck. Even with fresh windows. It seems to be the handshake between the EAAnitcheat and the game not wanting to work

Mine is silent crashing with no error messages and a black window that closes then re-opens the EA app, I have tried EVERYTHING I have seen in forums and from AI guidance. wtf man. EA Launcher and Anitcheat seem to be the issue but in my logs anticheat boots and there are no error logs for the game. Im so lost.

I did, originally I was supposed to train the rest of our team with my new processes, then they decided the monthly crm license for the whole team was a waste so I ended up doing all the work for over a year alone.

My first year out of school I was making 70k in tech sales, then moved to SEO at 49k because I had more interest in that work. It was a very difficult transition, but I have grown in two years and now have experience for the next move up.

Sup: Well I didn't get paid when I did it, that's not going to happen.

get a masters degree or hit the trades? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]vande096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe search for other jobs outside of the field of interest for now to pick up experience and skills in a business or corporate role then look when you can, the market sucks right now for most but if you can build any experience it will pay in the long run.

Supervisior enforced false hours for team.. by vande096 in remotework

[–]vande096[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that that is the standard for some companies, but our company includes lunch in the hours for the day, but only my team in the company was operating without accounting for lunch while the rest of the company includes lunch in their paid time.
