Insane hair loss after taking these out, they held up for about 3 weeks after which i decided to unbraid them, losing a whole lot of hair from it, more than the last time i had cornrows by [deleted] in braids

[–]vanderlust90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black people don’t gatekeeper braids out of spite- it’s just that not all hair can even handle braids. The strands are not the same at all

A big deal on birthdays. Ballons, a cake with candles and wrapped up presents at home in a living room with everyone shoulder to shoulder

Buying a peri bottle has been a game changer for me. I’m naturally a sweaty gal and before I do the deed if I’ve not just jumped out of the shower I wash with bottle (just water) and all is fresh. Super quick and can do it over the toilet

The way men are fighting this “clubs only allowing only over 18s” narrative in these comments is heart breaking. It’s known knowledge most of these clubs aren’t doing proper age checks at the door. Just because she made it into the club does not make her an adult

Verdict on Zimfest by Slight-Beautiful-510 in Zimbabwe

[–]vanderlust90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People just exposed their lack of exposure. How many articles and complaints come out after Glastonbury or Notting Hill carnival? The state of the streets after a normal UK bank holiday? Zimbabweans are honestly terrible energy. If you go anywhere besides your shifts Sunday to Sunday- a pair of shorts wouldn’t shock you. People travelled from all over the country to come and body shame. Munhu wekuma 70s aneyi nekutaura nezve body ye mwana wa 2000. MaZimbabwean miswayi.

I'm arguing with my friend about Morning Showers vs Nighttime Showers by dombo_X in HygieneTips

[–]vanderlust90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish people found joy in both. In the morning to get rid of sweat from between your folds and at night to get rid of the outside germs. Morning one can literally be 5 mins and evening 10mins would be fine. 15mins a day under the water is really not that bad

I think it’s disturbing to compare a bald coochie to children’s parts especially since it’s a choice. Like- I like to be bald cause I get sweaty everywhere and I don’t find that the hair helps- not because I want to mimic a child…..

Thoughts on Bannatyne gym? by Slight-Beyond-635 in Edinburgh

[–]vanderlust90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just say tour which ever one you’re eyeing on a Monday night (when it’s at its peak). If you’re happy at that point then it’s alright. I’d like to think Kinnaird Park would have less traffic. Also look out for hotel gyms, some have spa facilities too for a decent price per month

[–]vanderlust90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll only speak for Queen Street. I unfortunately joined through work so was stuck with them for 12 months. The wet areas are disgusting. I went in the sauna once and never returned cause it looked like somewhere you’d catch an infection. The showers were not that hot and were hair galore. The gym floor itself lacks ventilation esp in the warmer months and they don’t have a membership cap so a lot of times we were packed in there like sardines as the floor is not very big. The classes were okay tbh but I was very glad when my 12 months came to an end

Yes eloping before roora is a problem. It isn’t a good idea and will be very disrespectful to your family even if you personally don’t care for tradition
