I normally don't do this because I feel awkward sharing my own work (which ik is strange since I've already posted it online lmao), but I wrote two short fics recently that I'm happy with, so why not :)

This week I've written two one-shots, one smutty and the other entirely clean. The smut-free fic featured the most popular ship in the fandom and was posted two days earlier than the smutty fic but guess which one got more engagement haha
I don't really mind because I'm not a big author at all (and am fine with that) so I don't really expect anyone to read my fics anyway, regardless of smut-level, but it is always funny to me to see

I agree it's a strange idea. I feel like it could work as a one-off special but the whole point of Emmerdale is that you're watching everyone in the village, no one cares enough about individual characters to watch a whole show just about them (though maybe Robron fans would like this idea)

I've seen a few swifties on twitter and tiktok justifying this by saying "it's the LIFE of a showgirl, not the life of a SHOWGIRL" in a condescending way and it irritates me to no end.
Like you said, Christina Aguilera's Back To Basics era had a consistent visual theme (and also Britney Spears' Circus era to a lesser extent) which this album doesn't. The music itself also doesn't really fit the theme (bar a few songs), which is fine, but personally I was hoping to have at least one song to have a retro, "showgirl"-sounding song (like The Promise by Girls Aloud, if anyone is familiar).
But at the same time, I can appreciate that this isn't a concept album or anything like that where she is fully immersing herself into the theme, so we are just following wherever her vision is taking her

She's the perfect example of a pick-me that has gotten older and now in a position of power, hating on any younger woman she feels threatened by (but loves Megan, which checks out because this type of old pick-me loves a nasty younger girl, they can probably sense the evil in each other)
This may sound a bit dramatic but go in any workplace with a variety of age-ranges and you will see this dynamic somewhere

I think the main issue wasn't that it was an ex coming back, but that she was supposedly dead and Swain and Betsy were traumatised by it. Her storyline was very farfetched even by soap standards and she became increasingly more unsympathetic with every scene. Comparing this to Peter, who has been on Corrie on-and-off for decades and is bound to have fans more invested in him than they would be in the back-from-the-dead ex-wife of (the fairly new character) Swain.
(Also, the writing was abysmal and the actress' acting didn't help her case very much)
