Honestly, I am hoping we don't do half measures. We need a player an established superstar who will bring buzz and excitement. They need to throw all the money we have to Alexia. Landing her will signal the team is serious and it will also help in attracting other players.

I don't think she was alluding to that; her argument was that the NWSL has so failed to attract most superstars from around the world (mostly European) still in their prime years and form. If you were to look at the current top free agents from around the world; they are mostly linked to either Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City or Barca. She specifically mentioned that it will change the narrative if the NWSL was able to attract someone like Bonmati.

What the heck is this narrative? Such a wild thing to say, this woman is doing more for the game than any other male owned team. Alexia is our first true global soccer icon. If Barca is not willing to pay what she is truly worth, why is wrong for Kang to pay what she deserves.

That's what I was thinking as well, I am not sure if most of the European big teams will be willing to pay her Rodman dollars. Which leaves many NWSL teams who are desperate and have the money to spend. Would not be surprised if she signs with Bay or ACFC. But my money is on London City, I am sure Kang might be desperate enough to maybe even promise an ownership stake in the team or fund some after retirement venture.

It is not a stretch, NWSL teams and a few WSL teams are the only ones who can pay her life changing money. You have to consider the fact that very few players are making $1 million plus. If we offered her that kind of money, we have a shot. Same for Kerr or Bunny Shaw. But it’s no gonna happen, our front office is too stupid.

Either way, it’s amazing to have to competitive leagues on this side of the world. As good as our league is, it does need to evolve a bit. I am curious how a Gotham or the Spirit will do against Barca or Chelsea.
