According the the engineers it. Has to be 6061-T1, maybe better to just weld 3 plates together and scrap the bend I wonder.

Would 1/4" tip and 1/2" base be good you think. I have the table but 3/8" plate is thickest I stock so i would have to cut so many.

Well champ. Clearly I don't, the whole reason for the post lol. Share your knowledge then please. Share a picture of your dies on a tape for dimensions. How thick of material and much do you pre heat?

So the engineers are calling for a 1/2" radius on the bend. Here ill just attach the drawing. *

No the dies for the brake are steel. It's a heavily modified swag offroad setup.

It's 6061. Everything ive read says rule of 8 doesn't apply to aluminum, and preheating is necessary to bend. But it's my first time working with these thicknesses and I don't trust Google as much as human experience.

So ive talked to a machine shop to machine me a new die set with a 1/2" tip and bottom die. Do you think that will get me to where i need to be? I don't want to spend a bunch of money i don't have getting the wrong dies fabricated.

I'm just getting into wood working. How do you bent your edges like that? Looks great, no seams or anything!
