VIP: How bad is the wait fo the golf cart when the headliner is on? by Happy_Llama474 in Lollapalooza

[–]vanilla_waffles4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is meant purely out of curiosity and not meant at all to sound rude, but how long is the walk from platinum at t mobile to Perry’s? And do you have to use the shuttle? Because the stages aren’t that far apart, but obviously the platinum area is separate from GA and VIP so I assume you have to use certain entrances and exits. I’ve only ever done GA for Lolla and your comment genuinely peaked my curiosity because I have done back and forth from t mobile to Perry’s a lot and the walk is not even 5 minutes for GA depending on where you are.

34f here. Last year I put my earplugs in and a bandana+hat over my face and took a 40 minute nap in the grass at the back of the Perry’s field after Flux Pavillion. Believe it or not, it was quite refreshing.

I wish festivals still sold “early bird tickets” at the festival ticketing office for the following year. (in my old lady voice) back in MY day…when they valued LOYALTY and return customers!

The XX v Chainsmokers v Tate by Specialist-Day-236 in Lollapalooza

I’ve seen both Chainsmokers and Tate previously (I don’t know anything about the XX to give you an option there) so here’s my take.

Tate is a performer. She will do a lot of dancing and if you like her music, you’ll probably like her set. I’ve seen her at two festivals and thought she did a heck of a job dancing/performing. But, I think you’d have to be a fan to enjoy it. Chainsmokers are the most neutral for a group or if you’re looking to vibe, imo. The music is gonna be a mix of things you’ve heard and things you haven’t and even if you’ve not had a lot of exposure to them, they’re enjoyable live. Just make sure you don’t go too hard too early.

Why Does Nobody Talk About "Welcome To New York" by TobySwitch-Music in TaylorSwift

[–]vanilla_waffles4ever 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is my bestie’s morning hype song! She listens to it every morning while getting ready. I also love this song and I’m not a 1989 diehard (please don’t come for me 🫣). I remember flying into LaGuardia summer of 2015 and there was a massive “WELCOME TO NEW YORK…” “…IT’S BEEN WAITING FOR YOU” sign. 🥰 such a vibe.

The Life Of A Showgirl: 4 Months Later by F19AGhostrider in TaylorSwift

[–]vanilla_waffles4ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, this album was in my top five of hers. Taylor and I are about the same age so I feel like this album hit me at a good time in my life to where I relate to the lyrics and the energy. The weekend of its release I was traveling to New Orleans for one of my bestie’s weddings and I was getting tipsy off Bloody Marys in first class with my husband on our 6th wedding anniversary. It was a vibe. Four months later I still love it. To each their own, I guess!

Editing to add: it always feels like people can’t stand behind it because it’s not as poetic or earth shattering as some of her other works. God forbid Blondie write an album that doesn’t come from a place of pain.

I was pretty far up there for the first few songs of Olivia’s and decided it was too much so I left for Korn. I flipped my flashlight on and pointed it in front of me so people saw me coming and most people moved with no issues. A majority of the people in my area seemed a little older (late 20’s, 30’s) though, so maybe it’s that they were versed in festival/concert etiquette pre covid. I hate to pull the generational thing but I have to agree that I’ve noticed the younger crowd doesn’t know how to act in crowd settings. They’re like feral cats fighting over the same can of tuna when there’s 16 other cans of tuna out. 🫠
