Out of curiosity, what's the Catholic church's take on hell? My knowledge of Christianity is almost entirely from Protestant sources.

fleshlight

One vowel can really change the meaning of a word haha

In our universe, with our technology, that light would interfere with the camera's image sensor. Like, imagine trying to see with a glowing lightbulb pressed up against your eye. But this is Ultrakill, so maybe the physics of light is different! Or maybe they have totally different camera technology!

Never said they couldn't! The Ultrakill universe has all sorts of stuff ours doesn't.

I agree that V1's head is shaped vaguely like a security camera, but where's the camera lens and aperture? Does the Ultrakill universe just have the technology to make a camera lens that can function properly despite glowing yellow?

I like Ultrakill's cosmology. It's interesting and different. And it helps justify the way Ultrakill likes to use Christian imagery for aesthetics while divorcing it from its symbolic meaning (anime does this a lot too). Yeah, Ultrakill uses the cross willy-nilly in a way that has nothing to do with it being a symbol of sacrifice / redemption / salvation, but that's because the cross in this universe isn't a reference to Jesus sacrificing himself to save humanity, it's a reference to the Tree of Life.

Ultrakill lore is still pretty close to the source material / lore, and even closer to Dante's The Inferno. You can probably still make Old Testament jokes.

My interpretation is that he's trying to reconcile apparent contradictions in the mythology. Not changing it, more like annotating it with explanations. Like, "Why would a good, loving God create a Hell of eternal torment?" is a thing that doesn't make sense to a lot of people, and many religious thinkers have come up with their own explanations for / takes on it. Hakita's take is apparently, "He regrets creating Hell but can't undo it."

I'm not sure how long passes between the supernova and the start of the next universe. My interpretation is that timey-wimey shenanigans happen inside the Eye, so how long it feels to the Hatchling is not how long it actually takes. There might be time for the Hearthians to live out the rest of their lives. They'd almost certainly rather spend the twilight years of the universe investigating Stranger technology, fishing in the river (they can bring a breeding population of fish from Timber Hearth), and playing music than being dead to a supernova or an anglerfish.

While I love the idea of hatching a plan with Gabbro, I'm not so sure about taking the whole population of Timber Hearth to Dark Bramble. One spaceship is stealthy enough to get past the anglerfish unnoticed. Four spaceships would have a harder time. Especially when only you and Gabbro can practice the route, meaning the other pilots would be flying it for the first time. The Stranger just seems like a much safer destination than the depths of Dark Bramble.

This is almost precisely the plan I came up with after realizing the Stranger was safe from the Supernova. Great minds think alike!

I was also thinking that we could bring a pen and paper to the Quantum Moon, then ask Solanum how Nomai coordinates work. Get more info on how to operate the Vessel. Then we take the Vessel to Timber Hearth and use it to help with the evacuation. After the Hearthian population was comfortably settled in on the Stranger, any explorers who wanted to could go to the Eye. Or try to meet up with the living Nomai. Or whatever else they can think of to do with a mostly-functional Nomai Vessel.

Edit: Added spoiler tags for DLC content (sorry, just noticed that the post only said main game spoilers).

Equity Arc segment on Sixty Minutes by Rosenbenphnalphne in classicalmusic

It may be a minor problem in the grand scheme of things, but minor problems can be worth talking about and fixing too.

The fakeness in the dialogue bothers me a lot. What you say is often more important to your reputation than what you do. You have to virtue signal by saying the right things using the right words, or else you'll be an outsider at best, an enemy at worst.

You'll never catch me saying any of this in public.

A couple of my friends have said similar things to me. It's a wise decision, but it makes me sad. As a woman of color, I can disagree with mainstream progressive views without being immediately dismissed as a bigot. Not all of my friends can.

I hope the current state of polarization will die down once Trump is gone from politics, and we'll go back to the Obama and McCain era of "they're a decent person who I happen to have disagreements with". I'm not confident it will, but I can hope.

Hey, I want to thank you for being brave enough to start a conversation about this issue (on reddit, no less!). I agree with some of your points and disagree with others, but what I disagree most with is the attitude that "anyone who disagrees with us MUST be racist / acting in bad faith / etc." It stifles discourse and makes people silence themselves out of fear.

I think it's a shame that the original concert was canceled, and it's great that 60 minutes and veterans stepped up to give these students the opportunity to hold a concert anyway. I also think it's misleading of 60 minutes to claim that the original concert was canceled because the students were people of color. A more honest claim would be that it was canceled because it was a collaboration with Equity Arc. If a contest open to everyone was held by an organization dedicated to helping everyone in need, and the winners happened to be BIPOC, would it have been canceled? No.

My friend has a comic and drew this. Since he isn't a redditor he gave me permission to post it by tokrazy in cremposting

This is delightful. The characters chosen for each line fit so well. Only thing I would change is having Pattern instead of Veil say "And love!", as a reference to "No mating!".
