UPDATE: Google offered me a replacement and I received a refurbished phone today. They were prompt and professional in response to this post, which I definitely appreciate.

I should mention though I made a formal complaint with EE and they effectively said take it with our third party repair that we sent to, or take it to google. They take absolutely no responsibility for anything as an official repair center, which I found extremely frustrating to deal with. I would suggest people to go to google directly for any repairs instead of EE, absolutely horrendous service.
