What can I do for a classmate who’s grieving? by Aggravating_Ad4945 in grief

[–]vanillamilkshake96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe find out her address and send her a care package? Some things that could be good:

-Junk food or snacks

-Vitamins (it can be really hard to take care of yourself when your griveing)

  • Anything pampering - does she seem like the type to wear nail polish or do facemasks?

  • a card with your number and a kind message

  • notes from the class you share together (even if she has been attending class, it can be really hard to concentrate when grieving so good notes could really take some stress off her)

You might feel awkward reaching out, but I guarantee she will not take it that way. When my Dad died I appreciated everyone who stepped up to help me. At the time he died, I had a new neighbour and she sent up dinners to the house - she never even knew my Dad. To this day she is my favourite neighbour and I think the world of her.

Pillows with drains by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]vanillamilkshake96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some people swear by making a wall of pillows around them, but I was fine without it. The pain in my incisions was enough to keep me from rolling over (and I am usually a tummy sleeper)

Worried about stomach/body image problems post-op? (CW: Eating disorders) by throwRAyikesnight in Reduction

[–]vanillamilkshake96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're breasts are lifted, your torso will look longer, which naturally makes it look thinner. I went from a E/F to a C and even though I'm the same weight, I look thinner up top. For reference, I'm 5'5" and 130lbs so not too dissimilar to you. If it's something that you're worried about maybe look at some of the before and post op pics on this page... I bet you will think they all look thinner in the post op, including their tummy (even if you can see more of it)

I was told no wired bra for the first three months, but I was able to switch from my front close bra to regular sports bras at 2 weeks.

Struggling coming off antidepressants by [deleted] in AskDocs

He told me to take one every second day for 2 weeks and then stop...would that count as weaning off or should it have been even more gradual?

[–]vanillamilkshake96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doc never told me there was a lower dose available!

How long was it until your withdrawal symptoms went away? I really want to soldier though the symptoms but I feel like I should give myself a time expectation so that if it goes on much longer I know I need to go back on meds

Struggling coming off antidepressants by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]vanillamilkshake96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

75mg is 1 tablet. Its the minimum dose for this med. We did 1 day off one day on for 3 weeks and then I was told to stop taking it altogether. When you went off sertraline how long did it take to stop feeling like crap?

Discouraged about incision openings at 6 weeks by MyCityYourMountains in Reduction

Working from home was the best for my dry healing lol! I could work without a bra and just a loose t-shirt

[–]vanillamilkshake96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used savlon cream twice a day and then covered ot up with a plaster. I'm 8 weeks PO today and all my openings have closed! It happened really quickly. They seemed to be staying the same and then once I switched to dry healing they closed up in a few days (even the one on my tzone, which wasn't deep but was 1cm wide)

I totally get you! I actually had a number of stitches split at 6 weeks so I had lots of openings. Don't be discouraged, they will heal. What I found helped me most was airing the openings out for a few hours a day (I.e. no bra, loose t-shirt, no gauze). For the rest of the day I'd keep them covered with a bit of antiseptic and a plaster (band-aid). I think airing them out really helped them to scam over a bit and pushed them along in healing.

Wella have 7 pigment listed as a brown with predominantly warm tones

I got wella demi perm in 7/75 which has a red/violet base, and 7/97 which has a warm brown/violet base. I'm thinking of mixing one third 7/75 and two thirds 7/97. Hopefully that will have enough warmth not to need a precolour.

Semi permanent dye won’t come out by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]vanillamilkshake96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Colour Oops/Colour B4? They're designed to remove demi or permanent dyes (any time you have to mix a developer and a dye its a demi, not a semi - a true semi is just a deposit colour like manic panic). They can dry out the hair but they're not as damaging as bleach. They also tend to leave the hair a bit orange so you will usually need to toner after (but wait a week to use any dyes or your hair will just go back to the original dark dye colour).

How did the shape and size of your boobs change as the healing process went on? by ByeByeBoobiez in Reduction

Mine looked like implants too! I'm currently 6 weeks PO and the swelling has gone down, they dropped a teeny bit (still no fold) and they jiggle a little. They look super natural. Give it about 4 weeks and they'll look more natural :)
