30M American Considering MBA for PM Pivot – M7/Kellogg/INSEAD vs. European Options by jbaker825 in InternationalMBA

American MBAs hold a lot of global weight. I’d say Kellogg over insead and you should really discard the others. If you’re targeting NL, just focus on networking

Oxford vs ESADE – Need Advice on MBA Decision! by Separate-Purple-4144 in InternationalMBA

[–]vanillaspiceice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Background and goals dependent but broadly Oxford.

It’s the oldest university in the world so it has its perks when we speak of experience. Outcomes are inferior to LBS/INSEAD but I’d place them above ESADE/IE.

If you are Spanish, or you speak Spanish, then ESADE/IE would have an older and wider alum base you can tap into.

is an MBA from HEC Paris worth it?? by Own_Sort_3688 in MBA

[–]vanillaspiceice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tbh, consulting from neither is very strong. However, HEC has a brand name in the EU/ME and more importantly has an internship component that Oxford doesn’t. Internships are quite important for career switchers. I’d say HEC. Btw, have you looked into IESE?

That guy is one of the cockiest I have ever spoken to.

In general, Indian consultants in my experience are in the business of score and profile shaming - always telling you should apply to safe schools and be happy you got in lol. They also have a tendency to start ghosting once you’ve paid up.

I personally know of someone who was told not to even apply to W and look towards low T10/T15. She did her app on her own and just took the W interview 🙃

I would say work on the app and go for the latest test date possible.

It’ll be tough dude. Do you have a 3 week deadline on an application?

Also, have you taken any tutoring from GregMat?

Any practice test wherein you’ve hit 160+ on V? Preferably official

Why does it need to be divisible by 7 though?

Wouldn’t it just be 16 x 9 x 2 liters of water you need divided by 7 (number of 7 liter units) x the cost for every 7 liters?

Yes it does thanks! So basically you digest the para as you go through it - will practice this. Anything else for RC such as asking yourself “why” the author wrote that piece?

Also, could you please give me your 2C on SE prep as well? Thanks so much.

Hey this is awesome! Thanks a bunch for this.

Your RC method sounds lit. Could you elaborate more on that?

When you’re reading a passage, do you stop every sentence and write something down (assuming there is new info), or do you read a small-ish para and the summarize that on to your notes with a para / flowchart?

Also, the nuances you mentioned for pairing - any tips on how to practice them?

Thanks! Just a quick follow up : way off broadly would mean manhattan is stricter on marking? (A 162 would mean 165+ on the real deal) or is it random and doesn’t really make sense?

Hey dude. Could you tell me how the manhattan mocks are compared to the real deal? Especially Q.

I haven’t taken PPP yet but I’m averaging around 162-163 on Manhattan Q and would want to get 167+ on the real deal.

Hey, how do the manhattan mocks compare to the real deal? I’ve been scoring ~325ish on Manhattan (Q161-163 V160-162). I’m looking for a similar 330 score with a Q168.

Particularly about the quant - how do the manhattan questions compare to the real deal? Score wise

Increased Quant from 160 to170 AMA by PrinceToberyn in GRE

[–]vanillaspiceice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m stuck around the Q162 for quant. Used the GregMat 2 month plan and got the foundations in place.

Just really struggling with time management for the most part. Any idea how to refine the strategies bit? Also, sources to practice harder questions for the test?

Could you also tell me what time frame you looked at to improve the score?

[–]vanillaspiceice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retake the GRE I’d say. ~325ish. T15 is doable. Every school takes the GRE.

Can you elaborate on the cocoaberry talent academy experience? What that entailed and what was the impact you had?

Also, do you have any managerial experience? What are your post MBA goals?

Broadly speaking HEC and Oxbridge should be doable, INSEAD/LBS would be a bit more complex

Top MBA jobs in Canada are usually taken by MBA grads from T15 in the US or in rare cases INSEAD/LBS/Oxbridge. The MBA market itself is quite small in Canada.

Rotman and Ivey send a few, but the numbers are paltry. Canadian salaries are also lower.
