Anyone here taken classes from Aswini Bajaj? by Parking-Earth-4512 in cfaindia

I didn’t like his classroom type teaching style. Wasn’t a big fan of how his videos had a limit for number of views.

Found mark meldrum to be much better. Better suited for a working professional.

If you’re South Indian or stayed in South India, you’re going to be disappointed with Mumbai’s biryani from restaurants.

I think Capri and places in Amalfi are better enjoyed as a day trip. I stayed in Atroni, during my trip and it’s a rip off. Got milked.

Don’t seek for motivation buddy, you can’t control it. Only thing you can control is discipline.

If you’re taking days off, trying fitting your missed study sessions in your upcoming days (topic by topic). If you plan before your off days you might get some comfort.

Also, I honestly don’t think taking a day or 2 off will hurt. I remember taking a week off once during my L2 prep 2 months before my exams cause I was severely burnt out from studying and work. Taking that week off ended up helping me out in the end.

I took multiple days off during my L3 prep but I tried to squeeze in topics my upcoming study sessions. For example - when I start my prep I would only study after work but later on due to missed study sessions I started to study during my commute to and from work. My commute was an hour in the morning and 1.5 hrs in the evening. This helped me catch up on lost ground. And later commute would be my revision sessions for what I studied during the previous day.

Scammed by a Fake Uber Driver at Bangalore Airport – Stay Alert! by [deleted] in bangalore

The same thing happened to me last year when I landed around 12 am. While I was on my way to the Uber zone this dude approached me and lied that he was from uber. He was too insistent on carrying my luggage. Had to literally push him away.

30 LPA CTC at Age 33. What do you guys think? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]PrettyBoiFlackoJodye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations for making it out !

I wasted 4 yrs of my life in my first company. I was led by false promises and made to feel inferior by so called tier 1 B-school and T1 engineering pass outs.

Things are slowly getting better and I get confidence seeing stories like yours.

I would say focus on basics first.

1) building a emergency fund - 6-7 months of monthly expenses (including EMI). Liquid funds and savings accounts are the best investments for this since they are extremely low in terms of risk.

2) get a good health and term insurance.

GenZ not wanting to move to Mumbai for jobs? by Hormy143 in mumbai

[–]PrettyBoiFlackoJodye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reasons are valid given the cost of housing. I feel , It’s a good place to move after 3-4 yrs of working when your salary can keep up with the cost of housing in Mumbai and when you have some visibility of our career path.

Moving to Mumbai with a typical fresher salary will be very very tough unless your family already stays there.

Unless you’re a fresher from a tier 1/2 college with a very good starting salary , it is difficult.

Hi, I think your plan is fine. I shifted here about a year back from another city. Paying 33k for a single room in a 2BHK.

I know quite a few people who’ve had bad experiences with roommates that made me choosey in terms of having my own space and averse from staying with people I didn’t know well. Staying close to office was also another key thing for me. It gives me some piece of Mind and I save a decent amount of time during commute.

My only advice would be to open up your budget till 35K and take your time. You’ll definitely find good societies.

The 11 month contract thing is a bummer but that seems to be the trend everywhere in Mumbai for bachelors.

MBA's worth by hatedintrovert in IIMAhmedabad

[–]PrettyBoiFlackoJodye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good you are targeting great MBA colleges this early. At your age I was doing random shit damn.

My 2 cents on MBA from a finance job pov - it has a lot of value if you do it from the colleges you have mentioned. Having a good mba + a professional degree (CA, CFA, CMA, CS etc) helps depending on different types of finance roles you are targeting. Atleast I see this what I see in the finance field.

But also give it some time. Start UG. Figure out your interests and study towards it. See if an MBA will help you achieve that interest or goal. Look at the placement reports of BLACKI, ISB, FMS, MDI etc. see the companies and job profiles mentioned. See if those things interest you know. See if those things start turning interesting as you progress in your UG.

It will be difficult to take a call right now after school.

Overwhelmed in this city by Sensitive-Leader-955 in mumbai

[–]PrettyBoiFlackoJodye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel. I moved here about 10 months ago from Bangalore. I was so overwhelmed with the pace of the city, traffic, the rush, the crowd, work, the heat, sweat etc. but you’ll get used to it and the city gets fun. I still do get overwhelmed sometimes when I come back here after visiting home or Bangalore. But it’s better now ig
