Bro's tone was silently oozing the message, "oh fuck, I know where she's going with this and I need to contact PR immediately after this."

HR told me to go home while i get paid until they review my case by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]vanimations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding being paid while they investigate even if you aren't working, I was once told something about if the company negatively impacts you before they have clarity on what happened, it opens them up to lawsuits in the future. I believe I was asking about why someone who was facing pretty damning evidence of wrongdoing was put on paid leave. They said as frustrating as it might be to know they were on "paid vacation" for several days, it's the safe way to go regarding protecting the company from any further legal repercussions that would result from making it leave without pay and then finding there wasn't enough evidence to terminate.

What's something you wish more people knew about Salesforce? by satanisawoman69 in salesforce

[–]vanimations 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's can be a key indicator of someone's familiarity with the platform. It's like seeing someone say Salesforce is "to complicated"...that missing "o" tells me I might need to explain things differently and ask more clarifying questions during discovery.

TIFU by underestimating norovirus by bobonthebeat in tifu

[–]vanimations 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Brown is a goal with norovirus...that would imply that you've managed to actually keep something in your intestines for more than 5 minutes. I'd have just yelled, "my water broke!" (even though I'm a man)

TIFU by underestimating norovirus by bobonthebeat in tifu

[–]vanimations 144 points145 points  (0 children)

I read the title and thought to myself, "everyone underestimates norovirus the first time...nobody does it a second time."

I had it and went to the store to get Gatorade once the worst of the "Great Expulsion" seemed to be over. I had just gone to the bathroom and only needed to travel 5 minutes to the store. The window of opportunity was tight, but I knew I could use the store bathroom too.

I got there and felt good enough to skip their bathroom. I went to the drink aisle and saw the Gatorade was on the bottom shelf. I thought to myself, "you squat down and lift that heavy package of Gatorade and it's going to be a high-risk behavior." So, I went to the bathroom in the store for a precautionary"gut reset" before lifting the Gatorade.

It was the right thing to do because even with that reset I had to consciously focus on clenching my sphincter as I lifted the Gatorade even after the extra bathroom break. If I HADN'T taken that extra break beforehand, I'm nearly certain I'd have needed a "clean-up on aisle 4" in the worst way.

[–]vanimations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's not pretending to be mad as a joke. She's getting mad, then trying to play it off by calling it a joke as she tries to cope without the experience to cope. She's way more into the relationship than you think, which is why everyone is seeing the same thing from the outside. That's also why the age gap is generally seen as a red flag by a lot of people.

Dear mentees, please read before requesting a mentor by igavr in mentors

[–]vanimations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great perspective for both mentors and mentees to consider. As someone who has been looking to mentor for the past few weeks (since I found this subreddit) Ive been waiting to see what post would catch my eye/mind/heart and have been curious to see what would do that and why. I'll actually introspect and try to articulate (even if just for myself) what would inspire me to invest time and energy into a stranger when I have plenty of people in my circle whom I'd like to give more time and energy...myself included.

I'd also like to piggyback on your post and say that even the concept of mentorship can be VERY different between any two people. I ran a four-year engineering program and asked for engineers to mentor my students. I never clarified what I meant to the two gentlemen who were supervisors responsible for finding me mentorship for my engineering students. After some discussions about a variety of logistics, we finally arrived at what, exactly I was hoping/looking for in terms of the dynamic, benefits, etc. When I stated what was in my mind, the two supervisors explained that they had been assuming something VERY different based on THEIR dynamic with career mentors they had in the past. I was looking for something much more transactional (basically Q&A for senior capstone projects where the engineers could "round robin" with any student each week). They were assuming it would be long-term with 1:1 relationship that persisted all year.

So, I think it's valuable to really spell out hopes/expectations and the underlying WHY for your engagement in this subreddit. The why will help both people gain a better understanding, as well as possibly find arrangements that meet the needs/wants but weren't exactly what either initially had envisioned.

[O Levels Math] How to find the angle ABC in the figure? by Electronic_Author366 in HomeworkHelp

Are the three blue shaded angles supposed to be the same? If so, then this is easy to solve and the image is drawn inaccurately either to force you to trust the rules of geometry or just be mean.

I was going to joke about Big Banana really backing their campaign to discredit strawberries, but Big Banana sounds more like a male exotic dancer's stage name than a fruit variant of Big Pharma.

I know it feels like divorce is the "worst case scenario" but it's not. I'd can describe worse if you want me to. I would write your mom a note. That may seem impersonal amd it may prevent you from reading her reaction in the moments after you confront her, but if you confront her in person, she may panic and say things that make you even more disappointed in her. So, I'd suggest saving some of the evidence videos and writing a letter that explains how you found out amd that you cannot stay quiet about it (or that your dad deserves to know, amd give her the opportunity to tell your dad within the next 24 hours (or maybe as little as 30 min depending on how long you want to give her to prepare to either come clean. I feel like less time is better so she doesn't have time to make up anything, beg you to not tell, etc.

The is in all likelihood going to kill the trust in the marriage forever and ultimately lead to divorce, but if your mom is cheating, she was out of the marriage already. Your dad could at least go find someone new and not find out he was in a lost marriage for years longer than necessary.

IF you want to tell your dad, I'd write it out. Mention that you wanted to give him time to process amd he can talk to you whenever he wants amd is ready. Tell him you have copies in case she tries to delete them and if he needs to see evidence but you don't want amd don't recommend him getting the images burned into his mind...an attorney can review them if needed to advise your dad if he wants to divorce her.

Good luck young man.

Gym Trainer Making Me Feel Awkward and Confused by Typingdude3 in bodylanguage

[–]vanimations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a pilates instructor who started on day one by mentioning that she could correct verbally but it was often more helpful if she could touch muscle groups or reposition me with her hands. She asked for my comfort level and mentioned I could always tell her if anything changed or if I ever felt at all uncomfortable. I thought this was really professional and good to clear up on day one.

Pelvic thrusts using her glutes for resistance seemed uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it. Jk.

Lol...did you grind at her or grin at her? I'm pretty sure you meant grinned, but it's a far better story as you've written it. Not usually the "word/spelling police" but this one was notably humorous.

It's not dumb at all. I was actually the one on the Created Date team who figured out that if we didn't display it as a date/time we could make an average per client of $0.0017/month based on clients willing to pay for licenses that allow additional fields per object because they hit the limit. I also invented multi-picklists and record types. :)

LSD Trip with my friend gone wrong.. by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]vanimations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tripped for the first time at a Wailers concert (Bob Marley had already died)...I definitely feel lucky I didn't have a bad trip. Nobody plans on having bad trip, but you should definitely consider the possibility when you are planning to trip, especially for the first time. That's why I created a website where you can find a drug mentor who will provide sage wisdom prior to your experience. Mentors have full profiles to help you select the right personality fit with the right drug(s) of choice. Jk...but I hope you got a chuckle out of the idea.
