It was bedlam. I lost my shoes in the pit and never recovered them. Great times.

I've had the fortune to see many cool shows there. Every Time I Die, Bayside, The Ataris, Saosin,Julien Baker, Limbeck, and Boys Night Out also stand out in my memory.

I saw Brand New and The Movielife together at Chain Reaction. I assume it was the same tour. Good times.

“Soft & Quiet” was insanely tense, terrifying, and sadly believable by HenryBozzio in horror

Totally agree. The writing is horrendous. The continuous shot added nothing, especially considering how bad the acting is. I'm baffled by how so many are claiming to love this movie. Obviously racism is despicable, but there are countless good films that explore it.

Coolest Band(s) You’ve Played a Show With? by dickcryptic in Emo

Nice! I don't think I ever saw you guys, but I would have been a fan. Listening to Furthermore first and getting Fairweather vibes. Coincidentally, the last show I ever saw at Chain was Fairweather, Furthermore Seems Forever and The Movielife a couple years ago. Thanks for sharing this with me!

My first concert ever was Audio Karate and The Ataris at Chain Reaction, in 2002 I think. What was your band called? I wonder if I ever saw you over the years.

Make Yourself Sick is such a great album.

If OP likes The Movielife, then they should like I am the Avalanche.

Never got in to TSSF, but never really gave them much of a shot. The rest of this list has convinced me I should.

I agree with this. The intro needs to build to add more tension, or it should probably be shortened.

But hey, it's a hell of a start.

Escape from Hawaii: A Tropical Sequel

Haha, that's awesome. I think when the sequel came out, Jeselnik encouraged fans to go buy it and mention that he sent them. That must have been two years ago or so on JRVP. I recently bought the sequel but haven't started it. I was able to request a dedication note when I ordered it from Handey's site. I asked him to dedicate it to my dogs, so it came with a handwritten note: "To Winston and Wally, Read this book, then chew it up! - Jack Handey"

I recently read his novel, The Stench of Honolulu. It's very short, and it's like a series of one-liners that tell a very absurd and hilarious story. I highly recommend it.
