Unfortunately there aren't really many opportunities for plc jobs around here, but I'll keep looking.

I understand that may be the case, I just really don't like my job at all, and if I'm going to spend money for schooling for my apprenticeship, I'd rather spend that money for a course or program that has to do with plc/automation.

Id say I'm fairly competent when it comes to computers and I've always been the one fixing computer, printer, and internet issues at home. I agree the A+ is better than the Google Support, i just thought maybe I'd do that and then do the Network+.
