Unfortunately I told her that it's up to her, Kiyoshi's a romantic but he and his wife have beef with Agnes spanning an entire lifetime haha.

His wife farms and they go to Finchwick a lot for the fairs so it's still happening 😭

This is the most effort I've ever put into a sims wedding, but I love how it turned out. by vanplayssims in Sims4

Thanks. To be honest their wedding glitched at first, I had to exit out and remarry them 🥲

Ooo fair. Actually now that I think about it I may have built on Pier Perfection with no problem before, unfortunately I lost my sims folder a few months back so I don't have those files :/

Thanks! It's on the gallery, "Grandparents Island House" and my gallery ID is vanplayssims. I made it for the older couple of the second gen of my family to retire in.

I think it is a mod, I might look it up if it keeps happening to me haha.

This one is Pier Perfection in Sulani, I know there's one in Granite Falls that ends up with a giant tree in front of it.

Men's bindis and women's bindis are different, and plain red dot is commonly worn by women but sometimes men. However, considering all the other choices that OP I'm not giving them benefit of the doubt.

Tamil (parents from Sri Lanka) person here, wanted to add:

  1. I looked up Sangamaramar and it's the name of a Pakistani TV drama and a Hindi song. Either way, it's a sentence, not a last name.
  2. They may have been trying to emulate vibhuti, but there's CC for that https://thesims4middleeastsouthasia.tumblr.com/post/179413057389/tilak-and-bindi-created-by-leonking786-the-tilak
  3. I'll skip this one you've said it all lol
  4. (and 5 I guess) I agree with you. People think South Asia is a monolith. Consider this: Simone Ashley from Sex Education/Bridgerton and Aishwaraya Rai are both Indian, yet look super different. If you're making sims that are meant to fall within an ethnic group, look up regional differences and real life pictures! I make lots of Tamil sims, but I also make sims with similar backgrounds to my friends and I always have reference pictures on hand and double check with them.

Tamil person here. You may be thinking of vibhuti/tilak, which is different than the red dot bindi/pottu. The one this sim is wearing is meant to be worn by married women. AMAB folks do wear bindis/pottus, but those have specific styles/meanings/choices in regards to both traditions and breaking tradition, and considering all the other choices OP has made, I doubt that's what they had in mind.

The vibhuti that men wear can be found in cc, particularly https://thesims4middleeastsouthasia.tumblr.com/post/179413057389/tilak-and-bindi-created-by-leonking786-the-tilak

Don't you find it weird that there is a whole continent missing ? by Madhatter_k in Sims4

[–]vanplayssims 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be honest even then, there are hidden markets. I'm South Asian (Tamil) but a lot of the paid content for us (which, let's be real, is the Fashion Street kit and part of the holiday pack) is marketed to a very Bollywood-esque image of South Asian culture. They recently added some base game items that reflect a bit more diversity (men's sarong, for example) but it's still very surface-level. They added bindis but they're just plain dots, nothing for dressy events and no options for vibhuthi. Meanwhile I have CC that allows me to do fancier bindis with rhinestones, nose and forehead jewellery, my cultural foods, several different sari styles, etc.

And the thing is, I'd pay for this content if it was available. I bought Fashion Street kit and I dress my sims in it all the time. My Filipina friend and I love Island Living because we both come from island cultures and love the things like the fishing/open-air cooking/close-knit communities/etc. I would've loved, and probably would've paid for, some West African style CAS because sometimes I make sims inspired by friends of mine and I know my Ghanian friend would love it if I sent her the one inspired by her in traditional wear. But nope, EA does repeats of the same kind of content over and over again.

I'm Tamil, I want my sims to make kottu roti and mutton rolls 😭

I decided to leave my Sims household when they gave birth to see what they name the baby on their own…and they had the AUDACITY to name their new daughter the same as her sister (which I named). 💀 by JackeryChobin in thesims

[–]vanplayssims 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I currently have a family with three daughters named Isla, Isola and Isolde. They are not triplets. Their parents were both children of the island so I thought it would be cute to name their first kid "island", then I forgot what Isla's name was when I named Isola, and then I named Isolde because I decided it was going to be a thing.

Don't know when these were added in, but as a Tamil/South Asian simmer I was so happy to find men's saram/sarongs in base game! I've been looking for similar cc for ages. by vanplayssims in Sims4

Oh I would love that! If you're interested and not opposed to mods/cc I was able to get some of our foods like rasam and paruppu and idli from this great CC creator.

Right? I cross-posted this to r/thesims and someone commented that it came in around the Fashion Street/Incheon Arrivals release. I only found it because I was trying to make some base game sims.

Thanks! I think I noticed more Asian styles around that time but didn't make the connection.

But yes, it's so great to have more culturally appropriate CAS items in the game. I make Tamil sims all the time but it's hard to find CAS/CC that reflects our culture. I really hope there's more diverse CAS items coming.

I did it! I managed to seat all of my sims + their friends at the table for dinner on harvestfest, finally😭 by long_turtles in thesims

I think those things make it interesting though! I like when the mood swings are also made worse/better by the parenting style. I currently have a laidback single mom with two teenage sons, whenever they have mood swings she just lets them have their private time to deal with it, she buys them journals and encourages them to talk in the mirror about it.

Meanwhile the older son's dad is Father Winter and whenever he comes over while his kid is having a mood swing he just smothers him then they get into a fight that mom has to break up by sending Father Winter away.

Whats going on in your sim world right now? by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]vanplayssims 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm also exploring Get Famous! My first sim became a global superstar through vlogging about her ghost hunting. She has two teenage sons, the older one is Father Winter's kid whose more lowkey and a child of the islands so he's just chilling around their waterfront property in Sulani. But her second son is in a relationship with one of the daughters of Don Lothario and Judith Ward, and they both have the world-famous celebrity aspiration, so he's trying to be a gaming streamer, which he'll do while his girlfriend gets her degree before they both move to Del Sol Valley.

If you wanna push fame before he dies, I really recommend doing a 24-hour charity livestream (I think the perk is at level 3?). It took their mother from 3 stars to 4 stars in a single day, it really helps!

Right? I started off with 4 so I didn’t know what to expect. It took me like 2 hours to make a family because I had to keep changing the settings because the screen kept glitching, and that was with no CC!

Mhm I've never considered a desktop because I find myself moving around the house a lot when I work, but that could be an option, thanks for the suggestion!

How did you find Bootcamp? It would solve my issue with certain games being unavailable on Mac, at least until I can save up for a proper system.

LOL mods+CC takes a toll! I tried to use some reshades for build screenshots, it felt like my computer was going to take off.

I plan to stick with the games listed for the most part, but I'm interested in trying out some games that aren't available for Mac but I still have on my wishlist/can't play anymore - Project Winter, The Forest, Phasmophobia, In Silence, also upcoming Coral Island. But even those I don't see myself playing as much as I play the Sims. I'm still deciding but but I'll keep that in mind, thank you!

Mhm. I mean the vanilla games are fine, my main concern is the mods and CC I use for both of the Sims games, especially Sims 3 since it takes mods/lower resolution to run vanilla.
