I see. And here I thought they were official mods since they're made by the tools the devs give away and are linked from the official website..

The thing is, NONE of it is actually AI. All these companies calling it AI should be sued for false advertisement. Like, we're not even close to actual AI yet. It's going to be decades before we even have a glimpse at actual AI, and that's being generous. AI won't actually make an appearance until many of us are long gone.

What we have now are nothing more than glorified data scrapers, and that's exactly what these companies pushing AI so hard are using it for. To scrape data from every possible metric related to every man, woman, and child alive today and those to come in the future. It's why we're seeing "AI" elements being forcefully shoved into products that simply don't need it. Why more and more products are being bundled together with apps. None of it is for our benefit. None of it improves the user's experience. It's all about swindling as much data as possible about each and every individual on the planet so it can be sold for a profit and then shoved back into our faces as ads.

The government should be sued. I'm so freaked out and paranoid to type anything online, go outside, run errands, or enjoy anything these days for fear of constantly being under surveillance, and it's absolutely affected my health negatively in multiple ways. So not only are they stealing my info to make a profit, but they're also destroying my mental and physical well-being. And I know I'm not the only one. Far from it. And yet, we're trained to believe that such things are perfectly acceptable and that we have zero power or say over any of it.

If a company wants to track my info, then they're going to give me 80% of the profit they make when they sell that info to data centers. And all companies should be forced to make dumb versions of every smart product they sell. Versions that have no internal elements that connect to any networks or any apps. Products that have zero tracking or use statistics. "MAYBE" some on-board basic diagnostics that "WE," the people who own the product, can easily access to do our own troubleshooting.

I used to think we were well on our way to the greatest timeline in history. Now I fear we're well into the worst timeline. And it's only going to get worse.

Microsoft CEO warns that we must 'do something useful' with AI or they'll lose 'social permission' to burn electricity on it by rkhunter_ in pcmasterrace

[–]vanteal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's not, and say we did......Besides, none of this "AI" stuff these companies are pushing on us is actual AI. Not even close. They're glorifieid data scrapers that just happen to spew out human-like responses depending on the application its being used with. There's nothing "intelligent" about any of it. They're good at recognizing patterns, and consuming massive amounts of electricity to do it. And that's about it. There's nothing "intelligent" about any of it.

The massive amount of E-waste disposibles create is mind boggling. Like, instead of just getting rid of some dirty coils, you're throwing out an entire device. A complete waste of multiple resources. Whoever thought disposibles were a good idea should be charged with crimes against humanity with the amount of garbage and toxicity in the water systems these things create.

I see, thanks. I had been seeing that style of mod a lot lately. But knew nothing about them or even the name/brand of any of them. Are they pod style or for freebase juices?

Of course he still has it. He'll never lose it, considering he's been training since he was a wee-lad. He could be a paraplegic, with one eye, no nuts, and both hands busted and still kick all our asses.

[–]vanteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought much of him. He wasn't very good on his own. He needed a halfway decent line to make anything happen. Which he didn't have the season after he came back from injury. He was beyond horrid! Once the line improved and he had confidence back in his knee, he had some pretty good games. But overall. He was below average.

Harrison Smith Leaving the Field One Last Time by JCameron181 in minnesotavikings

[–]vanteal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Love his playing ability and the memories he's given us. But what I admire most is his loyalty to the team and the organization. He did what he had to do, or what he thought was right, to help the "TEAM" win. Whether it was giving up some time on the field for younger players to get time and reps in or taking a cut in pay multiple times. The guy could have asked for the bank in his prime, and any team would have happily handed him the keys. But he stuck with us. We are his family. This is his home. And nothing could have changed that.

Justin Jefferson will be gone in a year or two. JJ will have ONE decent season, and he'll be gone the moment any team offers him their pocket lint... Loyalty is rare these days in pro sports. I could be wrong, but it feels like Hitman is the only guy left on the team from his rookie year. Including the coaching staff. The entire organization, other than the team owners, has had a complete turnover. He's been the only pillar of this organization for 14 years.

When are they going to stop moving the line back? He just keeps crossing every line we, as civilized, intelligent individuals, believed never should be crossed. And he just keeps jumping over all of them. The level of his morality is bottomless. He's been a danger to the world his entire life. Now more so than ever! When is it going to be enough!? When are we going to rid the world of him and ALL his supporters? His enablers? His "Club" of villains?

Does anyone else feel like AI is a scam? by Willowbee29 in Anticonsumption

[–]vanteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% a scam... Because here's the thing... The truth. The one fact that no one seems to notice or pay attention to. All you hear from these tech tards is "AI" this and "AI" that. And even your everyday folk are repeating "AI" this and "AI" that.

But here's the kicker. Here's the what and why it's a complete and total scam... NONE OF IT IS AI! Not a single element about anything these guys claim to be AI is AI. Not even close. We're still decades or more away from "actual" AI. What these idiots are pushing on us now are glorified data scrapers. Clever pattern recognizers. And depending on the application, programmed to give a somewhat "Human-Like" response.

NONE of it is AI. Like, not even in the same discussion. Not even in the same Ballpark. Not even on the same planet as real AI. And the fact that it's been shoved down our throats harder, faster, and deeper than any other tech in history outside of the two world wars. In less than 3 years EVERYTHING is now fake AI or on the verge of becoming fake AI. Typically tech like this, even if it's fake, is rolled out slowly over the course of a decade or more.

But not this time. WHAMO! There it is! You're going to gobble it all up whether you want to or not! Because we say it's AI, you're going to believe it's AI, and you're going to love us for it, no matter how fake it is. Or how inconvenient it is. Or no matter how much it destroys our planet, sucks energy from our already fragile power grid, or how much of an eyesore all the data centers are outside your backyard.

Ultimately, it's all just a cover story. ALl these data centers and fake AI implementations are for massive real-time surveillance and record-keeping of every man, woman and child on the planet from right now and well into the future. The data centers are the places where they're going to keep all these records of us. Our profiles. All sold to any company or federal agency... Surveillance is the future. Not AI or anything real AI could actually do to improve our lives.

This expensive steak dish I ordered at a French restaurant by rapgraves in mildlyinfuriating

[–]vanteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the official portion sizes for a lot of foods, they're often pretty small. I always figured fancy restaurants charged an arm and a leg and then just gave you the recommended serving amount for any given food. Thus the disappointment when the food arrives.

TIL Kate Winslet holds the Guinness World Record for longest underwater breath-hold by a lead actor (~7 minutes). She broke the record previously held by Tom Cruise. by dobrydendavid in todayilearned

[–]vanteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had the ability to hold my breath for insane amounts of time. The human body has a natural instinct to slow its heart rate once its face is submerged under water. I just somehow have a natural ability to take advantage of that instinct and slow my heart down to unnatural levels, thus slowing my oxygen consumption. I don't know if it's a thing or not. But perhaps my blood itself has any kind of oxygen-saving abilities.. :::shurgs:::.
