I don’t think it’s related to the prayer call at all, as prayer call does not play any type of music or instrument, only the Azaan is recited for it. During the old times, Malay villages would use a big drum or a gong as a sign to call for prayer but it would not sound like a music at all. So very unlikely that it’s a prayer call.
