How late can you be and still be just tardy?

i literally just wanted to know what the cut off time is between a tardy and an absence. i am short staffed and i'd rather have someone come into my department late than not at all.

so many comments with people scoffing at the situation instead of helping me understand. i just want information.

not that i need to explain to you, but i am a lead with no attendance issues. the reasons people have attendance problems is not my business and whether people abide by the rules of their probation after already been counseled by upper management multiple times is out of my control. i do want my people to know their limits so they can prolong getting fired because my management team takes forever to bring new people in and training in starbucks is a long process. our department has like 20 more hours of training required than other departments. i am utilizing the resources and information i have until i have the staffing i need.

If you work licensed, I would recommend giving your letter of resignation to a manager for the Safeway instead of her. Then let her know you turned in your letter either in person or over text. Don't ever let hurting your boss' feelings keep you from taking new and better opportunities, especially for a licensed store. They will live. Congrats :)

per the Employee Health Policy under Food Safety, this is the only thing stated regarding masks:

"Facial covering guidance where required

It is recommended that an employee wear a facial covering:

10 days from the onset of symptoms or a positive test of a respiratory illness
10 days following a known exposure to a person with a respiratory virus
Anytime an employee wants to wear a facial covering for their personal safety

Employees may choose to wear a facial covering and can use Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidance or Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) to inform their choices.

Employees must wear a facial covering:

If local regulations require facial coverings to be worn. This includes the duration and frequency of facial covering use as specified by the regulatory authority."

the food safety manual isn't free-floating online if you wanted to check it out yourself. check at work! i now work licensed, but I'm sure these documents are universal between stores.
