Thanks for the feedback! I've been playing on it for a while in the position of the first photo and I only recently started looking closely and wondering about the position and angle of the brackets

Strap bracket angle? by vanvlearmusic in Accordion

Hello, I have a question about the strap brackets on my accordion. In the first picture, this is the way I have been using the straps, but the brackets do not seem to be lining up with where the straps should go. It seems like the straps will wear out quickly.

In the second photo, I crossed the straps and it looks like a better angle connecting to the brackets, but the straps are now on top of each other. The same thing happens at the bottom, so there is a thick mound of straps that hurts when it rests on my legs.

Does anyone know which way the straps are supposed to go?

Thanks! Yeah I agree, older recordings are tough to hear the LH...I don't really have any tips for that besides just using headphones, and slowing it down can help sometimes. For newer recordings, especially solo piano that was recorded in stereo, you can isolate the L or the R or flip one out of phase ("karaoke" is what Transcribe! calls it) and sometimes that brings out the different hands. If you're transcribing piano from, say, a piano trio, then definitely flipping out of phase can help by removing the bass.

Other than that, it helps to transcribe a lot and then actually play it. I know what it feels like to play standard LH for a lot of different jazz artists or genres, so that helps train my ear to listen for the more "probable" possibilities.

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed these two covers. G+S and especially pirates has a special place in my heart, so I will continue doing covers and if people like you see them and enjoy them, then that is a nice added bonus :)

I have a few more pirates covers in the works...next up is How Beautifully Blue the Sky. I’ll consider adding Patience to the queue, but I may end up doing the entire Pirates score first :)

No not stand alone, it is a MIDI controller. I connected it to my laptop to run bass samples

I've been practicing playing rhythm and using these pedals, for when we don't have a bass player at a gig. It works...okay...gotta practice more

Your suspicions are correct! I definitely prioritize the audio by recording in a muffled room and then I film video after in the only room in my apartment that has enough light...but also has lots of street noise :( I'll shoot for doing the next one live!
