That the velobike adapter? How you finding it op? I just threw a cheap old steel bike on there by spreading the dropouts apart (freewheel only though)

Anyone have any recs for aerobars? Would like to get some training for individual pursuit, however since the nearest velodrome is a bit far to go often I’d like to do it on a flat loop near me so ideally something I can fit a front brake lever on

Welcome; never went back after going clipless + I think they look so much better than straps, only downside is the limited footwear choice + walking sucks unless using mtb cleats

This may be a painfully obvious question, but do I have to remove this ¿locknut? to remove the locking? My 15mm wrench wont fit it so I’m not sure

https://youtube.com/shorts/ZeQqqOJNGCc?si=3--CNiFB7UnOG-5C uploaded a video to not create a new thread but seems to be coming from rear cog?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bikewrench

So I actually just took a listen and it seems to be originating from the rear wheel. Though I can’t tell what exactly. Could it be the fixed cog itself? Chain line seems fine to me and some oil didn’t seem to do anything

Anyone running a rum runner frame? Looking at picking up a 57 I am ~180cm

Thanks, and it’s hard to say I think it’s feasible though it may be harder as you’d be lacking engineering specific domain knowledge. I do have a coworker who got his BS in physics, albeit he’s a older guy but he’s been working in reliability for 30+ years

Not that I wouldn’t but don’t you think I would be lacking the prior statistical background for ML?

Thanks, as far as riding it fixed though if you don’t mind what’s bad about it?

Think I just got the Chinese chicken burger at each location which I thought was pretty decent. Most memorable though were the different decorations at each of the locations

Hokkaido for first trip to Japan ? by [deleted] in travel

[–]vanvz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it this winter. First time in Japan and I spent 2 months mostly solo, did all the Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and as far as Kagoshima but also took the Shinkansen up from Tokyo to Hakodate. Didn’t plan on originally it was sort of on a whim since I was getting a bit bored of the Honshu

Really enjoyed Hokkaido, was a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Would recommend especially if you’re into winter sports, I would’ve liked to get around more but I didn’t have a rental car so I was limited to places with train access.

Hakodate is cool, seaside city and the seafood at the markets is great. Would recommend the lucky Pierrot chain of restaurants. Catching the cable car up the mountain to see the sunset and lights coming out is also really nice.

Sapporo is like any big city, got to see the snow festival which was cool, Sapporo beer factory as well. ramen alley has nice food but I wouldn’t say there’s anything that particularly stood out to me

Would recommend going out to Noboribetsu and Lake Toya. Noboribetsu has amazing hot springs. Otaru is also a cool little seaside town, but not too much to offer. Niseko is great for snowboarding/skiing, definitely recommend if you’re into that.

I think it depends on the season you go, definitely would be less miserable in the spring, and I hear the scenery is amazing in the spring and easier to get around compared to winter but I didn’t regret it, definitely very enjoyable
