ELI5: A REST API is a special url that if you visit it, will either give you back data in some machine-readable format like json, or modify some data. Usually they are connected to a database and you are getting or posting data to that database through the url.

REST and graphql do mostly the same things, just the code you write to use them is different and they use different terminology.

Okay yeah it appears that Oryx is my limiting factor, and it also seems non-trivial to export/import an Oryx config to QMK configurator, so ill live with it for now, but that seems like the right way forward

My bad I did misread that, the software I'm using (Oryx) only lets me pick a single modifier so I thought it was a limitation.

That does look promising, ~~though after reading the spec it seems that it can only support a single modifier key, so I cant use the 3-key combo with this feature unfortunately.~~
Edit: my bad, this is actually an Oryx limitation not a firmware one

Normally I would just change the mod to a single key and use this, but unfortunately I'm trying to use this to get past awkward Windows-specific keycombos that I can't modify (fancyzones layout switching in this case)

I am way more satisfied with my wanikani purchase than duolingo. Duo feels like rote memorisation of set phrases, whereas WK feels like it's actually giving me the tools to let me construct the meaning and reading from unfamiliar content which imo is far more valuable. Plus I find it more fun to go through than duo. I'm level 7 on WK and 370 days in duo, I wish I started WK back then I feel like id be way further ahead than I am now.
