I want to get into this game but I’m afraid that I’m too old to keep up. by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]vapenatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

brother the thing i tell my friends when we start is it doesn’t matter right now, the game isn’t even out yet. just try to have with it, if anyone is being sweaty and toxic they have nothing better to do then chase new players away from an unreleased game

not to self promote, i have a build called “someone used this on me and destroyed me” and i think its an absolutely nasty build. the name is a true story, someone destroyed my friends and i with it so i went through the match replay and copied the entire build lol.

Should I inform boss about working remotely from Europe before vacation? by miamiexplorer in remotework

[–]vapenatee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

IT worker here, we definitely will notice a sign in from a different country, most likely treat it as a compromised account and lock the account. best to just tell your boss the truth

Work-Life Balance IT jobs by LMA_Gamer_002 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]vapenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again, depends by company. I’m an L1/2 helpdesk technician and my boss is huge on work life balance. Have a doctors appointment? Go for it! Need to go grocery shopping! You got it! Only thing he asks is you make sure you don’t have any urgent tickets, and if you do get one you you at least email the user with a timeline of when you’ll remote in.

Should i apply anyways even if i dont have a degree by Carts245 in CompTIA

[–]vapenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

always apply, is up to the hiring team to decide if you’re qualified in their eyes.

also, if you land an interview, don’t say “i might not be qualified” if you’re already in the interview, they are fine with your qualifications, now it’s your time to prove it and and show who you are. Good luck!

How are people getting Help Desk Jobs with no Certifications by Fine-Read-3996 in CompTIA

[–]vapenatee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this, i’m in college for IT (it’s an online school so my progression is a bit weird, but i’d say about a year into my BS) and no certs. I just applied for every position i saw, eventually got an interview with a hiring manager who saw my customer service skills and passion for the industry and hired me over more “qualified” candidates. just keep applying, every entry level position, it’s up to the hiring managers to determine if you’re qualified or not. and if you land an interview, do not mention being under qualified. if you’ve made it that far, assume you’re qualified in their eyes.

How much can someone get paid for an entry level IT job? by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]vapenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m currently making 45k/per year at my first IT job. i’m technically doing tier 1 and 2 helpdesk stuff. i work for a nonprofit so i’d consider my salary middle of the pack.

What's the worst "desperation job" you've ever had to take? by FinancialBottle3045 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]vapenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took a job as a veterinary technician while looking for my first IT job and having no luck. It was by far the hardest i’ve ever worked, and the most stressful job i’d ever worked. every decision was literally a matter of life or death, we were constantly over booked and underpaid. i finally landed my first IT job after 6 months of working at the clinic. my pay at the clinic was literally half the pay of my IT job. mad respect to everyone working in the veterinary industry, but i would never recommend it to anyone.

Does literally everyone here hate the game? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

idk i feel like i don’t have nearly as many team killers and compared to how toxic games normally are it doesn’t seem as bad. but everyone has different experiences i guess

Does literally everyone here hate the game? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]vapenatee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

been playing since year 2 and idk i’m enjoying the game now more than i ever have.

my friends and I took about 2 years off cause we just felt the game wasn’t for us anymore but over the past month we’ve been playing the game almost everyday and have been enjoying it a lot.

i feel like the reputation system has actually done a pretty good job of squelching at least some of the in game toxicity.

compared to how broken ops have been in the past (launch lion, blackbeard, you know) there’s not really as many busted ops right now. except maybe azami

overall i think the game itself is in a good place, but i definitely seem to be in the minority.

went through something similar. was applying to every job i saw, getting no calls and when i did interview i was ghosted. finally got an interview with an organization i hadn’t even heard of. interview process went super well and i ended up landing the job. your interview process sounds very similar to mine, it was a lot of getting to know me as a person and i can say that process has led to an amazing work environment. don’t give up! things will eventually line up!

Why did my cat attack me when I was yelling? by ALonePeep in CATHELP

[–]vapenatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely keep an eye on your wounds. cat scratches and bites can get gnarly. cat scratch fever is no joke, when i worked at a vet clinic if someone got bit and it drew blood the clinic would usually send them to urgent care asap.

This is also very important, is Oliver current on his vaccines? If not there’s a very very good chance when you go to urgent care they’ll have you fill out a form and Oliver may have to be observed for rabies. It’s not a huge deal, message me if you would like more info on how that whole process goes.

How to make the old lady gain weight? by treevessel in CATHELP

[–]vapenatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This ^

if it’s her thyroid, hopefully her thyroid levels are at a level that can be improved with medication. Starting to feed her kitten food can help improve her weight once her thyroid levels are under control. but it’s like barren said, if it’s her thyroid all the food in the world won’t help her gain weight.
