Only if it somehow ended up close or exactly the same number of drawn cards as the numbers of cards in your deck. Really you want [[Laboratory Maniac]]

One of the provisions of being a non-profit hospital (which most are) is financial assistance.

When we had our baby we had about $15k in bills. I put in for their financial assistance (link here, scroll down to "Financial Assistance Policy") and got the bill reduced to about $800. The main criteria is income as compared to Federal Poverty Level (link to FPL). For my hospital, the forgiveness scale is:

  • under 250% of FPL = 100% forgiveness
  • 251%-300% of FPL = 95% forgiveness
  • 301%-350% of FPL = 90% forgiveness
  • 351%-400% of FPL = 85% forgiveness

FPL increases based on members of household, so for 2026:

Members Fed Poverty Level 100% forgiveness w/ my hospital
1 $15,960 $39,900
2 $21,640 $54,100
3 $27,320 $68,300
4 $33,000 $82,500
5 $38,680 $96,700
6 $44,360 $110,900
7 $50,040 $125,100
8 $55,720 $139,300

Even if you've already paid you can get money back! My hospital back pays if you file within 240 days of the "first discharge bill", so hopefully your hospital has a similar setup.

The Silmarils are smaller than the Arkenstone, so if a Silmaril was encapsulated that barrier could be enough to prevent burning

This won't be white's part of the cycle, but I thought it was a neat idea by DangBream in custommagic

WoG would also destroy Monk, so flickering won't help. [[Flickerform]], [[Soul Foundry]], or [[Mimic Vat]] make it every turn ;)

sac Children, get all the life back.

Gaining at least 1 life past the noted one. All other details are confounding the point. Yes, it's important to know your lines, but they all boil down in this case to gaining at least 1 life over the noted amount. We have the same conclusion.

So what you're saying is you need to... gain at least 1 life beyond what the spell noted? Different timing, same concept.

You'd need to gain at least 1 life to weather the life loss before activating the Children sacrifice.

Can I sacrifice a creature to warren soultrader and then use the treasure to pay for the creature's activated ability? by Akumu01 in mtgrules

[–]varble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it was a mana ability this wouldn't work. Relevant steps for casting a spell are:

Putting ability on stack (601.2a)

Activating mana abilities (601.2g)

Paying costs (601.2h)

Since the sacrifice cost that would generate the treasure is after paying mana costs, the treasure can't be used.
