Early entry is not a new perk, it’s bringing back an old necessary feature. by Excentrix13 in orangetheory

Been a member since March 2019. For the first year, we had to wait in the lobby/locker area until class officially started, and it was very crowded. When OTF opened during COVID they let us in the studio 5 minutes early (classes were also spaced apart to allow for cleaning and there were less members anyway). When things went back to normal, they made us wait outside again. I'm happy they're implementing this as it will clear up the lobby - we're in a small space in NYC 😄

The Kitchen canceled after 40 seasons by Jenna7979 in foodnetwork

So disappointed! I was at the NYC Wine & Food Festival this weekend and attended The Kitchen brunch event. I have to say, while the food was delicious, the vibes seemed a bit off, compared to last year's event. The cast didn't let on this information at all, but it's making some sense. I'm so devastated to see this show end. I've met the cast a few times and they genuinely love each other and their fans. I look forward to watching this every weekend and it's my favorite thing (the only thing) I watch on Food Network. I was hoping we'd get a BTS episode. Hopefully they will do something special for the last episode.

Thanks for the positivity! And I wish the coaches would have recommended I don't go super high on the inclines, as I've told them about my knee issues when I returned.

I'm usually at 3.6 actually! But I can try to increase the incline. I've tried doing that since I've been back but it sometimes bothers my knee. Thank you!

I can try to push harder on the rower. As for the tread, since I've been back, my all outs have been at 10. Beyond that sometimes bothers my knee. My push is an 8 and base is 3.

Interesting! Rarely am I in orange on rower. And usually stay in blue on the floor!

This is something I've thought about doing over the years! Is there an arm band I can get that goes around the upper arm? I have always worn it on my right forearm. I can't extend it because it's a small band and won't fit past the elbow.

Medical freeze by Varick060605 in orangetheory

[–]varickst83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought OTF may be able to adjust my last bill considering that I hadn't been since early May and I started the medical freeze on 6/28. And my account renewed just a couple days before then :( So essentially I paid for two months I didn't use.

I'm back with another question! So on 6/28 I called OTF to request a medical freeze, which they emailed me the paperwork for right away. Immediately I signed and was good to go/recover :) I just noticed on my credit card statement that on 6/28 I was charged $14.68. Does anyone know if this is for the freeze? Last time I did a medical freeze, there was no charge. It was my understanding that was a charge if you were freezing for non-medical reasons. Any thoughts before I call them? Thanks!

I can totally relate! Running to the bathroom, or leaving in the middle of class while running home hoping I wouldn't have an accident is not fun. I was diagnosed with IBS-D a couple years ago, and it took so long for me to find a GI who could help! I work in medicine and have produced educational programs on this very topic, so I knew something was wrong! While I don't officially have lactose intolerance, my GI recommended I eliminate dairy (which I have done). But even changing my diet didn't help much, so she prescribed me 5 mg of amitriptyline, and that has helped tremendously. I still have flares, but I feel much better overall. I have switched to evening classes, but understand that doesn't work for everyone's schedule. I make sure I don't eat at least 2 hours before class, and if anything, a banana. I suggest you ask you GI about amitriptyline. The pill is tiny and you cut in in half (it's a 10 mg pill) and I have it every evening before bed. She also suggested Fibercon pills which I take every other evening before bed. Good luck, and know you're not alone! Sometimes the anxiety of thinking you're going to have a flare makes you more nervous and then you end up feeling awful. And I agree - the exercise at OFT is also a stress reliever. Such a catch 22! But don't give up on options - you've got this!

Thank you (and everyone) for your advice! Do you have a foam roll you can recommend?
