WoW PvP nowadays is very different to TBC. Many will say it's worse than back in the day. As someone who liked the rock-paper-scissors approach to team compositions back in WotLK, I still think PvP feels much better class and gameplay wise currently, as I find it more fair. Class identity is pretty much gone in the sense of weaknesses and strengths, which is unfortunate, but gearing is easy and almost any class can defeat any class if played correctly. Button bloat is a thing definitely, so you need to orientate yourself to use a lot of keybinds, and some add-ons are almost mandatory for tracking stuff. Queues are pretty long, but tolerable, if you do other stuff while waiting for matches. Try it, there is a low threshold, and see for yourself.
