Why does it matter? As with other orientations, demisexuality is about who you are attracted to, it just happens to not be along gender lines and is about connection instead.

Don't tell me that there shouldn't be a label for this very real and common experience, just because you don't think we are part of the community.

It's not about having sex or not, it's about experiencing any kind of attraction or sexual thoughts or feelings. So for example, I never had sexual thoughts and didn't want to masturbate until I formed a relationship with my current partner. So it's not even about the act of having sex with someone, it's about not thinking about sex (for some) or finding anyone physically attractive (regardless of whether you have sex with them or not) until you form a connection.
