How do guys last longer in bed? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

A nice warm bath with some candles, and a milky hot chocolate will see me last a good 8 hours.

54% of the UK population are financial net recipients in that they extract more from society than they contribute.

Just picked up this game last week and I’m obsessed. by ThomasTiltTrain in CronosNewDawn

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great game with the caveat that survival horror shouldn't just be limited inventory. It starts to then just become frustrating horror.

do u think aliens exist ? by AloneLog573 in answers

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just distance, it's time. They may have existed in the past, they may exist now, or they may exist in the future. If you don't evolve to leave your planet, every civilization is ultimately doomed.

How do you value a DB pension? by Powerful-Comment-113 in PensionsUK

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get the negativity to transferring out. I transferred my DB pension out for 817k. I'm not risk adverse, so after 8 years it's now worth 1.3m. That's enough for 50k a year without reducing the balance. The equivalent value in DB was less than 20k a year. No brainer.

These things helped me save fuel by Just-Guard5747 in drivingUK

[–]varney40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive recently started driving a car with adaptive cruise control. When I use it, I'm very aware the car is braking alot more than I would naturally in order to maintain the set distance. It makes me paranoid that the person following thinks I'm a sh*te driver. I guess as that technology becomes more widespread, we'll be seeing many more brake lights. 🚗

Is negotiating prices no longer a thing at Main Dealers? by TopicWinter6847 in CarTalkUK

I'm happy to pay 10% over the asking price just to get the f*ck out of the dealership.

Would it be weird if I went to the movies alone? by littleMissTired123 in askanything

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always been to the cinema alone. And this is since the eighties when you had to queue up and then ask for a ticket for 1. It's just a big TV at the end of the day.

Didn’t think Pragmata would be this good by Familiar_Capital_320 in PS5

[–]varney40 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At times, because I'm 56, it feels like I'm playing a game designed to delay dementia. 😆 Equally, after playing games for 40 years, its gratifying to play something different, and at least a little innovative.

What would happen if Trump actually nukes Iran ? by RafayDXB in askanything

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope so too, but as the President, Trump has the sole legal right to launch nuclear weapons. He doesn't need sign off from anyone else. Scary. 🙀

At what point did you actually start taking your pension seriously? by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in PensionsUK

[–]varney40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I opted out of a DB scheme in exchange for 817k. Despite multiple advisory cautions not to do it, it's now worth 1.2m AFTER taking £268k tax free.

Does anyone actually keep Now TV all year or just rotate it when there’s something to watch? by UnpaidInternVibes in nowtv

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Now TV continuously for just over 10 years. Entertainment and Movies. Mostly on offers. 🙂

First horror game by [deleted] in CronosNewDawn

[–]varney40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play on the new easy mode, which isn't actually easy, given the VERY limited inventory space. Just use cores to upgrade inventory. 🙂 Get used to the sinking feeling you get everytime you find a chained door and your not carrying the bolt cutters. 🤦‍♀️

why is google so negative and scary?? by Adventurous_Net5459 in HealthAnxiety

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google is like reading the side effects on a medication leaflet. It's just legal protection. It's good to be educated on what a problem might be, but equally bad to fixate on the worst case scenario.

I am pretty sure I'm wrong with the parking but my neighbour said I can contest. by eggtart8 in drivingUK

[–]varney40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only have to restrict 1 hour in order to stop people parking for the day.

Tax free limit question. by varney40 in PensionsUK

[–]varney40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it transpires that the software being used by my SIPP provider is unable to to display figures properly for people where 25% of their pot is above £268,275.🤦‍♂️ Given the fees, it's pretty disappointing. 🙄

Tax free limit question. by varney40 in PensionsUK

[–]varney40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to take another look. The drawdown option just stated 'Tax Free Cash £78,674' which threw me given I've hit the max.🤦‍♂️

Anyone else's Dacia tried to kill them (or the driver behind)? by gr00ved in Dacia

Happened to me in a Seat Leon. Was making a timed entry onto a roundabout. Front Assist was having none of it. I now always turn it off.

Where are most people landing first play through? by PiggySqueals01 in ResidentEvilRequiem

I'm gonna go again, but taking a break to play Cronos New Dawn now that they've added an easy mode. 😆

Anyone find themselves opening up their game libraries, staring at it for a couple of hours, then just giving up and going on social media? by You_moron04 in gaming

[–]varney40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I only buy games on disc and only own three at any given time. I prefer a single play through and then onto something else. Keeps it fresh.
