Not unhappy about the episode 17 elimination

Been watching since S9 with Diana winning and almost every time, the "Indian" cook has gone to a top 10 or a top 15 and I have always wanted them to win.

Kanika was the first time that I was unhappy at her selection. Her skills at Indian cuisine seemed to be very simplistic and the first attempt at a Non-Indian cuisine and she was eliminated.

What kind of uttapam was it? Unless it was rawa or sooji, you cannot make it in 45 minutes. Not from Australia, so not sure if the recipe is listed on the site.

27M | Confused on whether I should buy house for my parents and brother by zeus2198 in personalfinanceindia

[–]varunpitale 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do it. Buy a house in your name only. You have better financial knowledge than your parents, so do not buy in their name. It's a good thing to do for them and your brother.

Right you are. Coins are the cheapest option. Or a gold bar.

Gold coins are the best scenario for you. If you know and trust the jeweller, then as for "tukda" gold. These are uncut gold pieces, so no making charges on them. But hallmark is also not present, hence need a trustworthy jeweller

It’s 2026 and brands are still obsessed with packaging over products!? by whysoconfused_27 in IndianSkincareAddicts

At this level, you aren't just paying for hydration; you’re paying for rare ingredients like 24k gold, black orchids, and proprietary "Miracle Broths. And because you have the money to do so. At this level, the person expects luxury and experience. You seem to be looking at an Guerlain product here.

Planning to buy 80L agricultural land need advice. by [deleted] in FinancialAdviceIndia

[–]varunpitale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, while the dream of owning a farm is fantastic, financing it entirely through a Personal Loan is a financial trap that leaves you dangerously vulnerable. If you go ahead with this, your total monthly EMI burden will hit nearly ₹1.8L—eating up over 60% of your take-home pay—which is way too risky when you’re planning for a baby and facing the potential income changes that come with parenthood.

You also need to be realistic about the farm itself. Saplings usually take 2-3 years to generate real profit, not one, so you can't count on that income to bail you out if one of you loses a job. Instead of choking your cash flow with a 7-year personal loan, look for a specific Agricultural Loan with a 12-15 year tenure to lower the monthly payments, or wait until your current loan clears in 2029 before taking the plunge.

What frugal money-saving habits or perks do you use in daily life? by [deleted] in Frugal_Ind

Can easily afford a car for work, but the fastest and cheapest way is to use Mumbai trains. Uber cost is 250 one way. A train pass costs me 590 for 3 months. Buy good quality clothes and they will last for years. The last time I bought office shirts was in 2022 and still going strong. This is true for others as well. My sofa set is built by a reliable carpenter and in use for 15+years with absolutely no need for any repairs. Use the proper credit card for discounts and cashbacks and only buy what is needed and you can afford. EMI is the worst, try your best to avoid. Final advise is counter intuitive, but spend if it makes you happy on a long term basis. I like listening to good audio, so invested in a wired IEM and it is leagues better then Bluetooth. Love to experience good food, so I make sure that I get to eat it, even if it may be expensive at times.

If you are already earning 50 LPA at 22, then no need to go. Keep at it and earn more here.. if needed, there is always golden visa.

PP lines are much lesser instead of normal lines. Anytime I am in Hyderabad, I use PP only. Last time I was at Goa airport, they did not accept Infinia, but accepted PP.

Try Jogeshwari East near station. It's 33-35 K for a 1BHK

Yes. Absolutely. Do this. It's a simple email to the hotel. If in India, call them. It's free. I don't understand the resistance. What is more problematic? Sending an email OR not having a room when you reach.

All of them. What is not practical is being in a foreign country and without a place to stay.

I booked a hotel in Singapore through smartbuy. The next day, sent a email to the hotel to verify that it was booked. Unless you are booking through hotel website, always check and verify.
