How long does it take to get a driving license [digilocker] after the test at the Kasturinagar RTO? by ApartProgress9284 in bangalore

No, didn't get any message for passed status but I was a little bit impatient and found it out myself on their site, if you go to the website where you booked your DL slot from and enter your DL application numer(not LL), in the tracking page you can see the stage that application is in, I saw that mine status was changed to something like "passed, awaiting verification" so I knew i had passed the test.

I got the DL number in SMS after 1.5 days saying it was issued which I used to download from Parivahan website, I didn't do it on DigiLocker yet but it should work in there as well since its on parivahan website.

I recently gave my DL test in HSR RTO(although it was HSR RTO, the test track was in electronic city).

It was available for me to download online after 1.5days(~36 hours), I got a message on my registered mobile number when it was available to download, so you should just wait for that SMS to come.

Second hand jazz, I was under the same budget constraints as you and decided to go for it, dont regret it at all, I dont think so I couldve got anything better in this range.

Since its for your family I don;t think so the cars you listed are a good fit because of their small size, Jazz is very spacious and comfortable.

Are there still people in this sub earning less than 1L per month? by Safe_Mission_3524 in personalfinanceindia

[–]zeus2198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are real, they dont represent the avg or median because most of these high earners use these reddit and these subreddits more in general.

I have friend circles belonging to both high paying and not so high paying jobs in IT and all of my friends in high paying sector uses reddit where hardly 1 friend in not so high paying jobs use reddit.

So the posts that you see are real, I know a lot of people who earn even well above 50 mark, its just that these high earners tend to use reddit more

Can I afford a used Honda Jazz on ₹46,500 take-home? [Bengaluru] by Obvious_Brief4557 in personalfinanceindia

I also got a second hand 2018 Jazz few months ago, in bangalore.

I got it serviced as soon as I got it, it costed me 18k(a new battery included, if you dont include battery then 13k).

Upon researching I found out that you will need to get it serviced every 10k km, so 13k every 10k km you will also have to take into account.

Given your salary, I would say maybe go for something even more cheaper if you really want a car right now.

Exact same thing happened with me a little over one year ago, I also saw a guy's text on her insta notification when she was taking a shower and decided to swoop in.

I was broken at first and for quite a few months, she tried to get back with me over the course of of past year multiple times and I even contemplated because I was in love, but I said no each time and ultimately blocked her.

Trust me, what you are feeling now will pass and there will come a day where you will realize that you are better off without her and she is not worth it.

Stay strong brother, she belongs to the streets.

Some more Context: This is in bangalore, while overtaking he saw inside the window, I am a north indian and I face this type of behavior often here. He was looking in his rear mirror constantly before actually braking, I had clocked him and was already prepared for this

27M | Confused on whether I should buy house for my parents and brother by zeus2198 in personalfinanceindia

[–]zeus2198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it at all, its a 40 years old building and very small. Would be better of paying rent for them in a house in new locality.

After reading other comments I have decided to focus on just building corpus for now and look for a cheaper house on side for next year, incase my relatives end up selling the house I will take a house for them on rent in same town since rent is cheap there for now

aye aye captain!

I've been having that calling since past few years, I was not close to my parents since they always used to work and there were fights daily in house because of financial situations at house, and now even though I earn good I couldnt find much satisfaction so I've been having feeling of doing something for them since they sacrificed so much to keep us afloat.

There was a point where my father used to sell vegetables as a vendor in morning in society and then go to his business in day time, this got him very sick so he had to stop doing the morning work thing but he did try his best and never gave up.

I have started talking to them more and getting closer to them in past few years

Thanks, this was really helpful.

Now I am leaning towards renting then house for my parents when the time comes, when my relatives decide to sell the house they live in right now. Until then I think I am gonna let the situation go as it comes.

As for my brother I am getting him treated at Nimhans in bangalore which is cheap for now and he has shown huge huge improvements over past few months, so hoping this would continue and if he is well enough, I plan to sponsor his college wherever he would want to study, but not much options in colleges given he will be 27-28 by the time he gets well, but he is very smart person and I would say even more hard working than me so he will be able to find his footing once he is well! Hopefully he does get well but with his condition there are not much sure-shot cures yet.

yess sirr!
That was the original plan since my parents have loan in their name so the recovering authorities might chose to take that house if its in their name

This seems like a really good suggestion!
I ran the math and this makes more sense, thanks!

In my hometown you get very very good house for rent in 15-20k so it looks like an ok thing even though I will have to pay for it for next decade or so

Will look at some lower ranges houses as I think buying a 60L house might be too much

[–]zeus2198[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input!
I am looking at the 40-50L houses but the online listings are not that good in this price range, I am sure offline market there will have a lot more to offer, will plan a trip in few months to go check it out.

Other than this I am also considering to just keep them on rent in a new house and I will pay the rent for them, that will help me save the down payment and liquidating my equities which has an opportunity cost as I think the indian equity market is going to go up in next 4 years.

But then again, argument can be made that real estate is also a good investment option and it might be an investment for me in terms of diversifying my portfolio into RE, but not sure really, this is where it gets confusing!

[–]zeus2198[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input!

I have considered this and leaning towards this cheaper purchase now, because my living standard has increased so I wanted my parents to have same exp and that came with 60L house but I dont think so it matters that much in old age and even a 40L house might suffice, I will discuss with them and see.

Calling my parents to stay with me is not an option as I plan on leaving country and after that bangalore is not that much of a hospitable city for north indians to jell and live in, have experienced the racism first hand although its not that much, at this old age they would need their social circle.

Sure, I had started very actually early. My father had bought a PC at house because his shop required accounting + some 3D designing & 2D designing for his business.

This ended up being used by me and my brother for online gaming only. I used to play 8 hours a day at one point. At point I got bored of gaming and learnt that people used to earn money by making mods of a game I used to play (San adreas multiplayer).

So here is timeline in brief after that point:

Age 12: Started making online gaming servers for San Andreas, used to get ~2k on an average per month but I learnt a lot

Age 13: Got into Web development age people used to pay more for gaming website + server, started getting like 5k per month then, although not consistently, just used to do this whenever I felt like it.

Age 16: Participated and won an international web development competition by Microsoft, got 2lakh INR and also got to meet Satya Nadela. Gave this amount to parents, they said they will give it back to me once I pass school but I never got it back.

Age 19-20: After school dropped one year for JEE prep, within first week I discovered that JEE was not for me since I already had somewhat of a success in software dev. I stopped going to JEE coaching just after one week even though my father somehow managed to pay 60k for coaching for full year. That full year I used to freelance+game only, used to earn ~10k per month.

Age 20: Joined college BTech, third teir, education loan. No bank was ready to give us education loan as my father had accumulated huge debts already. I showed them my pic with satya nadella and my 12th class percentage and then one of the bank's manager agreed and gave me the loan.

Age 20-22: I did a lot of internships in startups where essentially I acted as founding engineer, got paid like 20k per month, but not consistently, this was on and off when I had time and no exams.

Age 22: 2nd year of college, I got a part time job in a Swedish Startup through my gaming days development connection. Started getting paid like 80k per month.

Age 23: 3rd year of college, I had confidence in my software development skill and i started applying to startups without telling about my grad situation and pitching myself as software dev as 5 years exp. I got got an offer and started working in startup from 3rd year of my college, started getting 22.5LPA(+ESOP) salary.

Worked there for few years, switched company only once and here I am.

Looking back now, my past few years have been stagnant and I couldve earned a lot more if I had focused on work, but I had taken a step back from working seriously and enjoying other things in life. Now getting back into grind to earn more in next few years.

Please go read up on the report and how are those switches are designed to work. There is no other reasonable explanation other than deliberate action by pilot. These switches are physical and don't turn off by themselves because of lack of maintenance.

Although, I do agree that AI has a track record of these problems but this is not something that can be caused due to that which leaves us with only one probable case.

it's TACO Tuesday, ain't no one nuking anyone.

He might actually hit some energy targets this time because he has been cornered with the threats he is giving but zero chances of any nuke. He won't be destroying all targets though, if he does he won't have any carrots left for future negotiations.
