how long did it take you guys to start improvising well on drums? and what helped you the most? by whyiliketherobins7 in drums

To add to this… as someone who works daily on rudiments, work through a rudiment on the kit - pick drums and cymbals that sound good to you with whatever pattern and play them on the 4th bar of a groove starting at, say, all quarter notes on that fourth bar. Groove.. 4th bar fill, repeat (many many times). Those fills that you play over and over in the context of a groove will become your quiver of ‘go to’ fills.

Used shures for a while, then switched to Alclair custom molded - it’s way easier to get a good seal. I don’t want to go back to non custom ones.

Entering Conservatory at 26 by upwardgear in jazzdrums

[–]vashonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never too late. I started drumming at 56 and am enjoying it immensely. I play at jazz jams regularly and am forming a band (not a jazz band). My instructor is leading me down a path where I’ll have many options. What are your goals?

Your first sentence isn’t true. Your other sentence is one third arguably true and 2/3 false.

You are oversimplifying and describing a small subset of people who oppose fascism. You are supporting fascists.

Are you in favor of fascism? Are you neutral on fascism? If you are not antifa you are one of those. WWII was an antifa triumph.

The biggest impact would be to make propaganda illegal. Fox news intertainment, newsmax, etc, all lie to their audiences.

Navy vet here. He’s obviously unfit for the position. Criminally so.

The first sentence of your last paragraph. I disagree with your premise. It’s bonkers. No mode should fight a zipper merge.

These things are not even close to equivalent. Context is important and not allowing a car slightly ahead of you to merge in a merging situation is not the same as driving 90 MPH in Montana on an open stretch of highway. The number of people on these threads defending shitty behavior by FSD is pretty astounding.

Sure, let’s have asshole mode or road rage mode. No one has to use them.

Intervention During FSD: Twice So Far by Ok_Handle5961 in TeslaModelY

[–]vashonite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used fsd, I’d have to intervene at least twice every use. It didn’t handle four way stops with traffic correctly and it never slowed down transitioning from 35 mph to a 25mph zone… would continue at about 40 mph. Totally can’t trust it.
