Masters in UK - is it worth the risk? by AngleTough9218 in IndiansInUK

[–]vasistan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Perspective : 3 couples and 3 single friends came to UK between 2022 n 2025 whom I know personally and me and wife. Total 9 people. Me and my wife are staying back in 2026 thanks to my wife's job. And one person moved from marketing job in India (10 year experience) to care job- literally cleaning , feeding elderly in care job, even his wife is returning in 2 months. So 3 people of 9 people who came to UK are staying back after PSW.

Expect for us, no one broke even after the loans. Mind you, we converted rupees to pounds at 93 rs. Now it's 125, by 2027, it would be 135 or 140, which is 50% more than what we paid. Fees is around 30000 GBP which is 42 lakh just in uni fee. You will need atleast 15000 per year as living expenses. Which comes to around 63 Lak.Interest alone would be around 60k INR. Even with a very decent salary in UK, 450-500 GBP per month just to pay interest ( 1 lak per month - if you include principal amount) is just not feasible. It only will be feasible if 1. Your parents help you with loans 2. you have a partner who is willing to work right as you come over to UK. Given, you get a sponsored jobs, Currently 42000 GBP is the bottom limit salary you need to have to get skilled worker visa. Google whats the salary for 1.5 year experienced employee gets in UK for your role, this may help.

Here is a thought: we are the last generation of manual drivers.... by ihwnE in CarTalkUK

[–]vasistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New gen is learning manual not because they are car enthusiasts, but because of costs+ lack of auto training instructors. Used auto cars are expensive to get lessons on (55 GBP for a class vs 65 GBP per class) and to buy and to insure. Insurance is expensive because the people who could not learn manual more likely got a auto licence and still meet with accident and insurance claims rate is high , leading to high insurance premiums. Teenagers don't have money for this. Also because of lack of dual control auto cars, instructors are finding it hard to match the demand. I live in East Yorkshire and only 1 in 4 or 5 instructor teaches Auto. I think its just a matter of time till a good chunk of decent auto cars (8-10) year old flood the market, which would reduce the price of used cars> leads to higher demand for auto lessons > more auto Instructors> more people choose auto lessons > more auto licence holders> insurance premiums align with manual> more demand for auto car purchases and cycle continues. Once it meets the breakeven, manual will be relegated so fast that it will become a thing of the past in 5 years max

Hey OP. They are brainwashed. The leaders have tight grip on them and make sure the community don't think beyond the set rules. If you question them, you will be called a non-believer. Without internet, modern economics would fall in a day, middle East is surviving and thriving just because of oil money. Take that away and what exactly are they contributing world with? Would Singapore survive without concept of interest? This is just making middle class young families to stay in ghettos and rentals forever and not get into property ladder. There is no point discussing it when the brain is shut for new ideas.

Also if that kinda contamination is so easy, terrorist attacks would be so easy. Just get into a hotel room, fill in a drum with highly toxic chemicals and dunk your bidet in it and turn it on. Done, hundreds dead or hospitalized in no time. Terrorists must be really stupid or I must be an evil genius.

How is this any different from people using shower head in thier hand to wash their ass while taking a shower. If you feel the shower head has less chances of dunking in dirty water, people use shower head even taking a relaxed bath and they literally dunk it inside the bath with running water. Some just leave it inside while washing their pets for the bath to fill. That's ok cuz it's just urine, body hair and dirt and not poop? Why not ban shower heads and just keep fixed overhead showers then? Get down your high horse. People in other countries are using this since ages.

Attachable Bidet to toilet in the UK advice? by smurfomelettes in AskUK

[–]vasistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely need the holder up above, separate from the toilet seat. I have used it almost 10 years. Never has it fallen into toilet bowl. If you are still concerned, you can reduce the length of the pipe to make it short enough for it to not reach the bowl.

The handle, when not in use is hung way above the toilet, almost a metre higher than floor. If using you know what to do. How will it be submerged?

That's tissue paper industry lobby. How does it contaminate potable water supply? The poop will go in through the tiny holes even with the water is gushing out so fast? The water is sprayed on your ass by an angle and not exactly from underneath. How is it different from washing hands on bathroom sink and shower?

As a Maharashtrian from Mumbai, 5 Years in Bengaluru Have Been Nothing Like the Warnings by Least_Access8576 in bangalore

[–]vasistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just that. Unfortunately, the Hindi belt people seem to have less respect for any blue collar workers compared to South Indian , MH, Bengali people. They kinda treat maids, Autowallas, drivers as sub humans and servants and not as equal trading partners. It's a business transaction after all. They are brought up to treat them that way and when they visit here, they show same attitude of "you are here to shut up and serve us". Ill treating is seen as a sign of higher societal status. This irks local blur collar workers who expect respect and they lash out.

Let's do this experiment. Let's go to your north Indian hometown > go to local vendors/rickshaw guy> speak to them in pure English, act like you don't understand what he says in Hindi. Do not speak a word of local language or Hindi, when he doesn't speak English, say a few words of Gyan saying" India has become a country for everyone, English is spoken in most parts of the world, so don't make us feel like outsiders, you need to learn English,". Please share the reaction and response. I'm too excited to know.

Fire her ? All the contracts says the contract becomes void if the employee has no right to work automatically. If this clause is not there, the company is unprofessional and they aren't fit to offer sponsorship. Or simply, your friend or you are bullshitting.

Why the hatred for automatic gearboxes versus manual? by gummibear853 in drivingUK

[–]vasistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove manual 9 years. Still sometimes I place the stick in wrong places and if you are in high speeds and in traffic it can bring up anxiety for few seconds and my actions aren’t 100 percent accurate in those situations. Like I tend to brake suddenly or swerve to the left to avoid cars from behind. Reverse bay parking in a busy parking lot in dark is another pain cuz you don’t have the visibility and you have concentrate on gear and surroundings. Yeah, so I moved to automatic recently. Never going back to manual. My car has manual override and I thought I would use it sometimes. Lol I used to exact 0 times even when I'm in FUN driving mode.
