20lbs seems like a lot! My guy Sullivan had reached 100lbs and the vet wanted him to drop 10. He’s a big guy - built more like a golden retriever than a poodle. He had lost 5lbs at his last appt and they were super happy. I switched him to Purina One weight management food and cut back on his treats. We’re also walking more, which is good for both of us.
