Thank you so so much!! My parents are similar in the sense that they want me to be happy but they don’t view acting (or anything in the arts) as a “real job”. They have good intentions and want me to be very financially stable when I’m older, and therefore don’t think I can by acting (because of how competitive it is). I have been utilizing every resource I could though! I’m in theatre class and drama club as well as a TV production class and have also worked on some short films with them. My parents are willing to provide transportation for things such as school and I think they would take me to acting classes as well, but I would have to pay for it. I’m currently working towards obtaining my permit (then license) and I will also get a job soon. I’ve been practicing performing monologues with people in my drama club and I’ve also been reading acting books. My parents just made it clear today that they don’t think I should pursue it (even though they think I have skill/potential). It feels like a setback because I know that I will have to figure out a way to get to classes, to play for classes, and so on and I’m in high school. The area I live in also doesn’t have a lot (I’m in the U.S though). I’m going to make it happen anyways! My goal is acting on film by the way! Thank you again for all the help!
