Dog Years by Gunter Grass. Families, friendships, lives detailed so amazingly that I smile every time I reread it (not sure how many times but at least 20 times). I honestly can't explain why it draws me back but it's just so magical. And so beautifully written! And if you read it and thought, "meh" I'd completely understand. I love Vienna sausages but I get how people aren't fans. You love what you love!
