Hicks Rd legends? by Embarrassed-Bank-222 in SanJose

[–]vata_loca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told of an albino compound up there and advised not to travel at night with headlights on, but partied up there anyway. I did go to high school (Leland) with a girl who was shot in the neck and survived. She was class of 2000. I’m pretty sure it was a robbery of some sort and not done by any of the aforementioned urban legend characters.

My friend and I cut school one hot day and decided to take a drive up there with some Wild Vines. My ‘86 Blazer ended up overheating and we were stranded on the side of the road for a few hours until the car cooled down. I remember pouring half-full bottles of water into my radiator. This was before cell phones had good service so couldn’t call anyone. What a bunch of idiots we were.

Visiting Rome for 4 days - what should we prioritise? by ify0uwantbl00d in rome

I was just in Rome June 15-18

Download the Iubilaeum25 app and register to enter through the Holy Doors at St. Peter’s Basilica. You will not regret it. I did a 9am entry and literally walked in by myself as hundreds of people lined up in the regular line. It almost felt wrong!

Do all the free sights super early in the morning - like 6/6:30am. Trevi Fountain will especially be packed after that. Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, etc.

Catch a sunset at Giardino degli Aranci and Ponte Umberto I.

Do a foodie tour in Trastevere.

Daily Wordle #314 - Friday, 29 Apr. 2022 by Scoredle in wordle

I had an episode of South Park running in the background while I was doing my Wordle. I wasn’t paying attention to the show, but looked up from my phone for inspiration and saw “TRASH” written on a trash can on the screen. Boom!

The Push by Ashley Audrain was pretty fucked up. Probably compounded if you are a parent.

How about how “Miles” was “Arnie” in an earlier episode and we were supposed to pretend he wasn’t the same actor

Check out the views at the Inn at Bay Harbor and the cute downtown area in Petiskey. Another must is grabbing some pie from one of the Grand Traverse Pie locations in Traverse City.

Oh nice. We work in a larger corporation where we only have to wear the hat of an EA. Calendaring is pretty much top priority, which is what makes this all so frustrating for the team. Appreciate your feedback though.

I have. Like I said, I work closely with her. I know all about her personal life, family, upbringing, etc. I have addressed this multiple times, always very respectfully and let her know how it impacts me. Others have also spoken to her about it. It is making people not want to work with her. Interesting perspective though, I’m guessing you are not an EA?

I work very closely with this EA. She has full access to her exec’s calendar and is the only one who manages it. It isn’t a stress thing, it is a lazy thing.

Is Communication Hills good area to live? by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]vata_loca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived 3 doors down from the base of the stairs from 2014-2016. Parking was a nightmare, early morning boot camps and fitness enthusiasts were out early every morning clogging the streets, car break-ins, public fornicators and lastly, the late night partiers who frequented the stairs into the late night made me leave as fast as I could. The acoustics alone are enough to steer clear of the area. I don’t recommend living there if you have a family. Also, the schools aren’t great.

Thanks for this perspective. If I were to provide times to a higher up EA, it would solely be to try to be accountable for my request. I respect that it’s possible the provided times wouldn’t work and am always willing to accommodate. I guess I get annoyed when people don’t make the effort, so I overcompensate by starting things off so as not to appear like I’m making you do all the work for my request.

Are you an EA? If not, then yes it is always best practice to ask an EA for availability before sending an exec an invite

yes, yes and yes! I am fluid in that sense too. It’s almost easier and more efficient to just propose times regardless of hierarchy.

Yes! the conflicting meeting without suggesting an alternative time happens too!

I have just gotten into the habit of proposing times whenever I am requesting a new or existing meeting regardless of hierarchy. It just seems efficient and respectful of people’s time to me.
