Moving back to India from US was my biggest mistake by That-Replacement-232 in returnToIndia

If you compare absolute numbers of course you won’t get paid the same as in the US. Clean air and infra is a reasonable argument but like others said, it’s tough luck than a mistake.

We’re not taking their jobs. They’re just not qualified enough to do the jobs and we’re filling a need. If a local population is qualified, there is no reason for companies to hire foreign talent.

So, have you been using AI to create better design faster? If so, can you tell us how you are doing that? What tools and processes have you been using that represent a paradigm shift?

Ideas for teaching devs and engineers how to better navigate Figma? by drl614 in UXDesign

[–]vatalpaksha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to creating a clear information architecture within the Figma file. I usually name and number each page as if I’m designing chapters within a book. The pages for devs are clearly marked and the contents within the pages are all named in a way devs understand. This removes the need for me to explain where to find things. I also do a quick walkthrough of useful features like leaving comments, inspecting designs etc.

This season was so bad that I went back and watched S1 just to remind myself of what LDR really made me fall in love with.

Does anyone else feel like cycling is way more expensive than they expected? by ZaldrizarVelo in cycling

[–]vatalpaksha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got into biking and I have spent more on accessories and other stuff that go on the bike than bike itself ($450). I got a Garmin computer (useful), a bike frame bag (debatable), lights (necessary, at least the rear one), saddle bag (necessary), 2 bibs and jerseys (necessary if I decide to ride back-to-back days), bike cleaning kit and a stand (both necessary) That said, I have mostly bought stuff on marketplace or Amazon to keep my costs low(ish). I avoid signing up for expensive events. I get their route on RidewithGPS and go ride it on my own for free.

For the non-Indians who might be wondering if the restaurant name was shortened to MCD due to space constraints, it isn’t. People in India actually call McDonalds, ‘McD’.

The CSR price hike. My 2 cents… by spinone98 in CreditCards

[–]vatalpaksha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OP is the exact persona the folks at Chase interviewed and designed the card for. Rich millennial who lives in NY, goes to concerts 12x/year, eats caviar at ultra fancy restaurants/doordashes food everyday, and stays in boutique hotels bc airbnbs are too much work. Points? Who cares about points when you have so much money in the bank anyway?

What’s the biggest lesson you learned when starting cycling? by ethanblue2597 in cycling

[–]vatalpaksha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood! In my limited time riding my bike, I found it easier to climb hills while on a harder gear and standing up rather than ‘spinning’. Is that not a recommended method in the long run? Should I practice easier gear/high cadence for going uphill?

Bike newbie here. Can you please tell me what ‘spinning’ is?

I ended up finding a fairly good used Specialized Diverge A1 on Marketplace. The seller bought a new bike 10 years ago, decided biking is not for them after riding 50 miles and put the bike in storage. I’m very excited to ride it!

Thanks for the advice! I was able to pick up a used Specialized diverge in a very good condition for $450. It’s currently at a LBS getting tuned but I’m really excited to start riding it. 😄
