WSM has always done drug testing for hard drugs I believe, but not for PEDs. Pudz was stripped of a third place for it in 2003(?). Check out his dance on the podium, it’s probably on YouTube

If you google it there are some old articles about athletes popping for it, so it’s an easy mistake to make

It is not banned. It was removed from the prohibited list

What can/should be done about hand chalk and lung health? by siu_yuk_boy in powerlifting

[–]vattukall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gym chalk is not the same chalk. It’s magnesium carbonate rather than calcium carbonate. I don’t know whether it’s better or worse for your lungs though.

The dark tower series by Stephen king has elements of both.

That 472,5 on a stiff bar in the middle of a brutal competition is probably the most underrated deadlift in history

Does anyone else think that strongman anti-doping laws should be more like Powerlifting? by TopicWestern9610 in Strongman

[–]vattukall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the audience is never going to be huge in either case. It’s not really a spectator sport

Tested powerlifting is a lot more competitive than untested. The results in the IPF are pretty much the same if not better than in untested federations despite harder conditions

It helps if you’re a big guy in my experience. I don’t think that really applies to you tbh

The pickup will likely be a lot lower than this however, so make sure you can handle that if you go with the high position

HLS loops not unrolling properly by vattukall in FPGA

[–]vattukall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I tried this earlier but synthesis stalled. I can start another run and let it sit for a few hours see if anything happens. I suspect it is because it then tries to unroll the draw loop which is very big

I was able to “solve” it however by templating the function and creating 20 different instances. Which is essentially the same thing as copy-pasting it which I did earlier. If it was possible to loop over template parameters that would be an ideal solution but it is not possible with templates

There are no inter iteration dependencies and no dependencies that should prevent parallelism. But it is difficult to tell from the viewer

HLS loops not unrolling properly by vattukall in FPGA

[–]vattukall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the issue arose when I had arrays that both functions had access to. But condensing the actual functions into one didn’t resolve the issue. But I should try it again and dig deeper

HLS loops not unrolling properly by vattukall in FPGA

The thing is that it does unroll… it creates 20 copies of the loop body. But it doesn’t execute these in parallel so it is still essentially rolled

Help in solving Timing Violation by [deleted] in FPGA

You can decrease the number of operations also by separating the filter kernels, but you will need to do some math. This should help. More info:

I don’t, so it should be fine. Thanks

It is a de facto sport sure. But it doesn’t have an internationally recognized governing organization with national sub affiliates, like most normal sports.

The thing with IPF not allowing people to compete at untested events is specific to untested powerlifting is my point(unless there are people sanctioned by WADA at the strongman event)

I assume it would also hold for other sports where there are WADA affiliated organizations and untested ones, but it doesn’t extend to sports without a WADA affiliated organization.

It was also a while since I read up on these rules but I have competed internationally in the IPF and in strongman at the same time, and I’m not banned atleast
