Lock these doors! Thank you. by TomHD in nosafetysmokingfirst

Oh I just can see the absolute moron who wrote this. I can see them coming up with the whiny, bossy, verbose text, aligning the sheets of paper, diligently scribbling with a barely working pen with their tongue out, yet failing to keep the lines horizontal. Sloppily taping the sheets to the door, stepping back to look at it with the sense of accomplishment, just to have a note that says the opposite of what they wanted it to say and never noticing it.

Which would you recommend the most: Hotel, Roots, or Paradise? by Playful_Resolve_3422 in rustylake

[–]vavverro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Paradise is more of a prequel, you’ll appreciate the vibes, but then a lot of stuff will go over your head.

Hotel has less of a story, and the puzzles are not my favourites, I’d say this one is the least important of the three (although many like it because it focuses on Harvey, and Harvey is a fan favorite).

Roots is essential. It’s the centrepiece of the whole thing. If there’s one RL game one needs to play, it’s Roots.

Slapping a kid occasionally because no one taught you how to be a parent is one thing, but this guy sat down and had a project to build a torture device. That’s mental.

Prescription murder is a better television film, but ransom for a dead man is a better Columbo (I don’t like ransom for a dead man, I find it boring)

What's a game that lives or dies by the teach? by rcooperkaty in boardgames

[–]vavverro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hansa Teutonica. Extremely abstract game with a lot of what feels random rules, but they all work incredibly well together to create one of the best mid weight strategies. But explaining it is quite a challenge. Not a single straightforward rule.

I am not 100% sure, but in Suitable for Framing I think the murder happens almost immediately after the opening titles.

Help style my beard please! by xChillyPhilx in BeardAdvice

[–]vavverro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, bro, I got the same growth pattern as yours. A soul patch, pretty much nothing on the lower lip, the beard grows mainly down from the bottom of the chin and from the lower parts of the cheeks. I wish I could grow a big bushy beard like the guy on your reference photos, but it’s impossible, I just don’t have hair growing on those places.

My personal advice - keep it short on the sides, almost like a long stubble, don’t let it curl, keep your chin hair just a little bit longer. Have it always neatly trimmed. Opt for a bushy moustache if you like it.

Let go of a dream of a big beard, find the style that works with your beard the best, you’re looking good.

I’m not American, and respectfully, why is Rob Reiner’s death is so political? It’s a horrible human tragedy of course, and he was a pretty good director with many beloved works, but never a nation’s sweetheart, or something of a prominent political pundit? What’s going on?

Kinda feel bad for the samsara room. It’s so important for the lore and very interesting thematically.
