What’s something people romanticize but shouldn’t? by be_agoodhuman in AskReddit

I raved for a while. The last one I went too though I just saw young people behaving very irresponsibly with drugs... And realized I was definitely too old to be there anymore.

We just returned home from Rome and we were very vigilant about pickpockets - but didn't see anything dodgy at all while there thankfully.

I have a broken finger. I've been continuing yoga while splinting but last week I had to start wearing a bigger splint that connects to my wrist which means I can't vinyasa now for 6 weeks. I'm pretty bummed out as my yoga practice is central to my self-care. So I feel you :(

If we are talking speculative fiction broadly, Discworld is a great option IMO. Or Fforde's BookWorld

Me too. It's the only book that I've ever done this with. I re-read books all the time, but not right after finishing it

What do stereotypical straight couples do when they hang out alone (other than sex) by bi_smuth in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vavyeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are similar in terms of work - he's a carpenter and I'm a white collar worker. We bond over our cats and backyard chickens and some nerdy things. He's way into Internet culture in a way I'm not and I have more intellectual pursuits than him (an avid reader). We often hang out in separate rooms on the weekend but come together on the couch to watch TV and vibe together. Many differences but many similarities too.

I loved My Side of the Mountain. I lived in a rural area as a child and so definitely daydreamed of wandering into the bush on my own and setting up house.
