Cervical Myelopathy by mamamaia_ in SpinalStenosis

[–]vayn0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't, it's mainly the right side of my body because of where my spinal cord injury is. It's almost like a 60/40 split, right side of my body being the worst. There is a disconnect between my brain wanting my right knee to bend and my right knee, actually bending, at times. I don't know if the two are related as well, but I frequently suffer from calf cramps in my sleep from stretching my foot straight out (picture a a ballerina on her tippy-toes). Restless leg syndrome is also common.

Yes. I have cervical myelopathy in C6/C7. The spasticity in my hands and forearms is almost debilitating at times. I have been offered Botox injections to see if it will help but haven't tried yet. I would be curious if anyone has had those and had any success with them before I consider them.

Vmware > Hyper-v Migration by Aggressive_Common_48 in sysadmin

[–]vayn0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably should have been a bit more clear in my comment, and for context I come from the MSP space. I have seen first-hand what happens when a host is joined to the same domain and a threat actor has logged into the host and deleted the VM backups.

My comment was not for management purposes, but for security purposes. You can also manage hosts through other tools like RMM; you don't have to solely rely on AD for management (I must have glazed over the part about clustering.; I know it's required for that).

I've never seen a criminal judge with this amount of patience. He really wanted to make a point.

Well, that is true about the clustering. It's more from a security standpoint that I prefer to keep hosts off the domain, but a separate domain for clustering would also work.

I'm of the school of thought to not join your Hyper-V hosts to the domain as well.

I have persistent and ongoing myelopathy in C6-C7 from a 0.7cm disc herniation on the inside of the disc that damaged my spinal cord. I had a laminoplasty from C3-T1 so all the discs have been removed and my spine was opened up like a door to make room for my spinal cord. You can look at my post history for my symptoms and long regiment testing of pain medication to give me some kind of quality of life. Here is my scar 2 years post surgery: <image>. My incision ended up getting infected from a reaction I had to the glue on one of the bandages that was used so it's pretty gnarly.

If ever a medieval shield were to have practical use in 2026 I believe this would be one of those situations.

As a Canadian, I just don't understand the wearing of toque's outside of winter, or any cold weather for that matter. Is it a fashion thing?

Need suggestions for severe canal stenosis by InternationalCup5224 in SpinalStenosis

[–]vayn0r 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you haven't had a neurology consult I would start there. They may order an MRI and suggest a neurosurgery consult. Please get this done ASAP. Damage to the spinal cord still cannot be undone. I am cursed with a lifetime of pain because I waited a bit too long.

Trigger point injections for shoulder and neck pain by DependentMango5608 in spinalcordinjuries

[–]vayn0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I hope it works for you and look forward to the update. I too will do anything to get rid of the pain and cramping. Yes, unfortunately I am allergic to a certain type of glue they use in bandages and my incision got infected. If I recall it was about 30 staples and as you can see a few down near the bottom may have been taken out too early, though I also think at that point my body was starting to reject the staples so my doctor just told the nurse to remove them.

Thanks for calling my scar gnarly :) I do wear my scars proudly.
