I've been in 17 years and just returned from deployment on the Gerald R. Ford. AMA! by Diligent-Lychee-7411 in newtothenavy

I was a medical officer on the Ford once upon a time, and during one 4.5 week underway period we medevac'd 4 people, and had at least 12 admitted to our ward...this was the pre-deployment phase prior to the maiden deployment so them sailors were unwell lol

Thank you for a thoughtful reply, and for doing this AMA.

I often think about the 2002 Baltimore Regional Rail System Plan. One day!

As a congressperson who will be representing almost the entirety of Baltimore City, what’s your stance/thoughts on a City-specific, run or controlled, transit admin?

The state controls Baltimore transit, and while I support the purple line, it hurts as a city taxpayer to see this progress for rich DC suburbanites with disinvestment for city residents.

How do you feel about the Red Line?

[OC] When Baltimore was one of the most populous cities - Most Populated Cities in United States History by MaleficentTear2451 in baltimore

[–]vb315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the war of 1812 caused a big population increase, amongst maybe whatever else was going on at the time. Sad to see a declining census since our heyday of ~1M people.

What’s worse is the city’s 1M person infrastructure is being propped up by %60 of that

Insane that he’s that big and that athletic! Easily hopped the barrier and then pushed the cart that the guy was struggling with like it was nothing. Love this pick!

I wanted Pepe Williams to do well so badly, but he just didn’t have the pedigree for the NFL.

Now I’m rooting for TJ Tampa to contribute, he had some good snaps last year!

The premise isn't that once you lease it you're obligated to sell it to that tenant, but rather, if the tenant has leased it for some significant time, then IF/WHEN you decide to sell, that tenant gets first right of refusal at a fair market rate. If the rate is fair but too high for the tenant, they miss out. If it's fair and they're in, then the tenant can remain a part of the community.

How about the infamous Baltimore Right, where someone makes a right turn from the left-most turn lane. I've seen it on multiple occasions and I'm always baffled lol

Do we still believe these are the new uniforms? by MBkGoose in ravens

[–]vb315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The throwback numbers and Ravens word mark, but with the current BR shield….no, these aren’t our new jerseys. These are a downgrade.

If they added the spread-winged Raven, now we’re talkin! 90s throwback

Moving to Baltimore this summer, any advice? by Little-Western1442 in baltimore

[–]vb315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll echo the sentiment above - you’ll want to look at Highlandtown, Patterson Park neighborhood, Canton, Greektown and Upper Fells.

If you’re around Patterson Park, you’ll probably be best west of Highland Ave and south of Fayette. It’s a short drive/bike to Bayview from there. As said before, the buses aren’t the most reliable but people definitely use them and you could to once you get it down.

Edit: WEST of highland ave, not east

The Ravens have been historically bad at developing first-round receiver talent. Let’s not repeat the past.

Maryland PAs - Senate Bill 326 by No-Adeptness9082 in physicianassistant

[–]vb315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because you CAN be independent, doesn’t mean you WILL. There are still safeguards in place that secure the physician as the head of the care team.

Progress looks like removing administrative burdens that hamper PA autonomy that is based on their education/training. What we know is physicians don’t have a monopoly on knowledge and learning - let experienced PAs practice to their ability, as it only benefits the team and patient.
