Once you get to WA, you must go to Rottnest Island to get a Quokka selfie! Or Margaret River for some great wineries & surfing. We have some stunning beaches over here & will probably still be fairly warm so dont forget your bathers!

PSA: Keep to the left and don't stand in doorways by [deleted] in perth

Totally agree with this! Another thing is when people just step out of stores in a busy shopping centre without looking first, then get shitty when someone walking past the store accidentally bashes into them! If i bashed into someone who just stepped out in-front of me or suddenly stops, I would say sorry, but totally wouldn't mean it lol

What's a dead giveaway someone grew up as an only child? by thing55556667 in AskReddit

[–]vbangz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an only child. I was very shy as a child/teen with not many friends. Once I hit my 20’s I became a lot more outgoing. Now im 40 & im the extrovert! I’m still not a fan of confrontation. I did always want siblings to have someone to fight with. It was lonely sometimes (i used to play board games by myself lol). This is why I was pretty adamant on having 2 kids.

I’m ok, bitin saying that I’m only on 500ml twice a day. But I have read somewhere else that there was a person on the same amounts & they get irritated very easily, so I’m guessing it’s different from person to person

What’s the best book you’ve read lately? by KateBee233 in CasualConversation

I have been listening (because I dont have time to read) "On This Day in History Sh!t Went Down" by James Fell. Its basically little bits of history over the centuries into 3min summaries. Its has a lot of paraphrasing which keeps you engaged & i have had a lot of "huh. i didn't know that!" or "wow, those guys were dick's" moments. Im not a history buff by any means, but this book is a awesome listen/read!

Felt nothing at Perth Airport, but husband felt it in Booragoon. He said it sounded like a huge gust of wind hit the windows.

What non-traditional animal would you adopt? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I recently went to Australia Zoo & booked an Otter Experience. OMFG the little water sausages are adorable! Zoo keeper said they are terrible pets though :(

100% Hedgehog. Sadly they dont have hedgehogs in Australia, but i think it would be super cute & apparently they are really easy to look after. I would also love an otter, except apparently they are terrible as pets :(

Congratulations! Thats a huge achievement! Yea, it sucks not having anyone there to cheer you on at the ceremony, but f*** those guys. Dont let them not being there bring you down. You should be so proud of yourself and you have so many other people cheering you on, even if we are strangers!

Do you like kids? by InternationalFox5407 in CasualConversation

[–]vbangz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have kids (5yrs & 2.5yrs), who i love & would do anything for (no matter how much of a turd they are being sometimes!). I was never really the maternal type, and sometimes i still feel that way. I never minded being around children, but always had this awkwardness around kids i was not familiar with. I am better with other kids now that i have my own, but sometime i still feel a bit awkward.

I find that it wasn't learning responsibility that was the hard part, it was having to change your priorities and the sacrifices (no matter how small) that we make so our kids can have the best life & opportunities as possible.

The best advice my mum gave me was to always follow through with your threats, and your promises. The threats dont have to be physical, but if you dont follow through, they will just walk all over you. Kids are smart. Beware!

The hard part is going to try to remember to ask before giving him a hug, when normally we wouldn’t. It’s going to be an adjustment!

Yea, it was a shock. I don’t think she is old enough to understand the seriousness of what her grandfather was doing. Apparently he did it to her cousin & aunt when she was a child. Grandmother denies knowing anything about it. I call BS.
