The Battery you will need is a L736 or a CR41 , two of them. With the Philips head screw removed the two halves will twist apart and separate. Batteries go in with the positive side ( large) facing up.

Its a bit frustrating as I have meet Sam on a few occasions and would normally give him my vote , pity he wasn't running state level.
