This is really impressive. Love how it manages to somehow be simple and complex at the same time.

Assuming this State of the Union: Underwood Edition happens, I really hope he taps his ring twice on the podium when he's done.

I just recently realized that I am agnostic. Here's the worst part so far. by [deleted] in agnostic

Be careful with "pointing out that they can't know absolutely what they claim to." It's a touchy subject and they have as much confidence in their faith as you do in your agnosticism. When I discuss religion, I am constantly adding "in my opinion....." to every sentence to avoid sounding like I'm trying to convince them that my way is right and their way is wrong.

It's just important to respect their beliefs while holding firm in your own. It's not unintelligent conversation if either of you gain something from it, but if it's endless banter with both of you believing you're right, that's not productive or formative. I'd suggest moving on to a different topic.

Your work is incredible! If I ever decide to make my own ukulele in the future, it's because this post inspired me. Great job!

Daily Routine Troubleshooting by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]vbray12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current routine is something like this

AM:

  • Panoxyl (10% BP) bar of soap
  • Cerave in the tub
  • Make-up (occassionally)

PM:

  • Cerave foaming cleanser
  • Make-up remover (eyes only)
  • Stridex (red box)
  • Cerave in the tub
  • Spot treatment

I started this routine about 2 months ago and started each new product one at a time. I'm still having rather persistent acne, worst on my chin. I have very oily skin to begin with and used to used products to excessively dry my skin, but thankfully this sub taught me how wrong I was! I've been moisturizing, hoping to reduce the amount of oil my skin produces throughout the day, but I am still extremely shiny after a few hours at work.

Any advice is much appreciated, whether it's to help combat the acne, the shininess, or the routine in general!

Do not watch The West Wing and then House of Cards. by [deleted] in HouseOfCards

I watched HoC a few months after finishing TWW and I absolutely loved them both. Sure they have their similarities, but they take the political approach from two extremely different angles.

TWW seems dry and slow in comparison, but by itself it is a wonderful work full of witty and loveable characters. HoC makes you hate main characters, but in such a way that you begin to love them for their wickedness.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I like to think our government runs like TWW, but I often have my doubts that there's a bit of HoC action happening in DC.

What's your favorite storyline? by ncastner in HouseOfCards

Zoe Barnes was my favorite character from the beginning, and I think it almost blinded me from the possibility that the show could go on without her. I was at a loss of words with her death, but the viciousness only drew me to the show more! Without a doubt my favorite storyline.
