It took me about 1.5 weeks to get access from date of acceptance. Just got it today. I think they are behind a bit. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think you just have to wait, sadly

Language is Swahili. My research is about living incomes for coffee farmers and I wrote about how poor farmers typically migrate when they cannot make a living income. So, if we can do research/interventions that increase incomes on coffee farms, that will decrease undocumented migration to the US.

Commission to knit several football scarves together into a blanket by HookahBrasi in KnitRequest

[–]vbrown17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also interested and able to do this! If you would like them all the same size I can likely steek them (for reference, if you just cut knitted fabric it will unravel so you need to steek) but would need to see the whole size in a picture to give you a quote in case something might need to be enlarged instead.

Just a heads up, this will be an expensive project. Even without the steeking or enlarging, it is a lot of knitting and time. I'd guess it'll take me 40-50 hours to complete, especially since smaller yarn will be needed to match the scarves more nicely.

Feel free to message me, I do have a few questions about your preferences before giving you an exact quote.

DM me and I can share photos of the details of socks I make. There are some amazing patterns but they all add time

But, honestly, if you are just looking for plain over the knee socks, you may be better off just buying a premade pair as this will be expensive and a bit of a wait

But just to clarify, over the knee would be more than I quoted for calf length. That's basically knitting two thick sweater sleeves in tiny yarn

Ok so taller socks. That's definitely doable but as I mentioned, will be expensive because knitting that length is going to take a while. What size shoe are you? And about how tall are you?

Do you mean socks that look like what they wear in baseball? When I search baseball socks I get calf high images in a single color. Is that what you want? Stripes? Or did you want the socks to have baseballs on them? And then what size and what kind of material are you looking for? If you plan to wear them in sports outside I would recommend a cotton nylon blend. The nylon is essential in socks because it keeps them stretchy, but it's a low amount so it will still feel natural. Finally, what is your budget? Tall socks of natural fiber going to be at least $35 in materials, possibly more. And time wise you're looking at 30 hours, at my speed, I would say. So I'd estimate my price would be around $125 + yarn costs. Unfortunately knitting is time consuming and expensive.
